Interrupting end of flowering?

So after a few years of growing I've been thinking about leaving my light on for 24/0 for the last 3days or week of flowering

I have never had a herm to deal with and wouldn't want to intentionally create one but with that being said what harm will it do because the 3rd day it would be cut so I'm asking

1) Would leaving the light on on the last 3days increase yield a bit also would a plant herm with in that 3days?

2) Would leaving the light on affect the weed potency eg: decrease it

3) Both questions 1/2 but for a week

I would think at end of process, leaving ur lights off for three days would do more then leaving them on...but wut the hell do I know! Lol

Only from my reading do I have to disagree, the standard practice as I have read daily over the last two months is 24-72 hours of Darkness to finish a grow.
I believe the plant does most of its growing at night, not sure just what I have read.

The Buds are supposed to swell up during that last dark period I believe.

If you are fame experiment!
who knows you may be correct, or everyone else may be correct....

good do luck, I look forward to reading your Data on ending your grow with three days of light.

leaving lights on is not going to interrupt the flowering phase. Shortening the "nights" would.

You're not going to notice an increase in yield, potency or anything but your electric bill. There is nothing you can do that will noticeably increase yield in the last week before harvest.

One thing you can do, which is often not done, is wait and harvest the plant when it is truly finished.

Think about ways to increase yield next run... and you can't cause a "herm" late in flowering with a female plant. Single pollen sacks (aka "naners") tucked in fully female floral clusters is not a "hermie". It is a normal response of an un-pollinated female nearing the end of her life. It happens.

its was just something that ive been thinking for a while and was just after a bit of advice from anyone who has maybe tried it or so on

tepenes and resin are mainly built in the dark period, giving it darkness a the end will enhance flavour, smell and appearance suposedly. it is what i do when i can.

personally i wouldn't do what you are intending to do. you wont get seeds in your crop but you will hurt all the resin that is stacked up on the top of the plant, it dries out and the heads can fall off the resin glands.

if you do decide to do it please share your findings with us.

This would be a terrible idea. While the damage you can do to the potency and yield in such a short time is as limited as any benefits that you might be hoping to achieve, it will nevertheless hurt your potency a little.

The plant's flowering hormones will quickly be destroyed by the light, and vegging hormones, as soon as they become dominant, will slow THC production significantly as energy is shifted back towards growth of leaves and branches.

i will share my finding and do intend on trying it just to see what dose happen

i wouldn't be able to test potency dose anyone know a way to test?

as for yield my plants went over into flower about 2 weeks ago and still have 4 and half to go so i will weigh it all at the end and let ya'll know

I'm never one to stop people trying things out, so go for it.

The only way to test THC is to get a mass spectrometer reading of the chemical composition of the bud, which can only be done by labs. It's both tricky to do (in countries like mine, where weed is illegal), and expensive.
