Interesting doc released by AZdhs on stats

I have been surprised by the numbers all around. I believe it will take some time for the "fear factor" to wear off. I was speaking with a co-worker that has self medicated (back pain from a car accident) for years and he is afraid to get his card due to unwanted attention. I completely understand his hesitation...

Actually there are less than 147 caregivers and I'm one of the few. It lists the number of applications, we must file a new one for each patient. A friend of mine has his full 5 patients so that means 5 applications and 1 caregiver. We seem to be a minority yet I am having a hard time finding all 5 of my patients.

I hear that MasterS, I have filed my paperwork, should be in this week I am hoping. I know a ton of people with cards already, that have no problem making me their caregiver, but to my understanding, there isn't an amendment form on the dhs website, so they cannot make me their caregiver after the fact, at this point in time (unless something has changed recently), then becoming a caregiver has to be done when a person first signs up.

That is absolutely true. Their official statement April 14th when the program went live was that a form to make changes would appear within 2 weeks. After a month of saying this they now state that they don't know when and at this rate it appears that they are awaiting until after dispensaries open up.

*side story* A friend was told that when he applies he needs to do so with me on the application so to be sure to call me when he is ready. I stated I was willing to pay resulting fee's in gaining a card as long as I was a caregiver. Literally 3 days ago, after having been warned this for months since December he calls me up excited that he has his card in hand and wants me as his caregiver. I told him to fuck off and hung up. I don't deal well with vast ignorance.

LOL yea that happened to me as well as a friend, almost word for word. But, I do have quite a few people waiting in the wings, so if I get filled up, I will make sure to pass a few to folks on here. I wish they would just release the stupid amendment form and make life easy. I wonder how many of the 5700 patients out there are wishing they had just assigned a caregiver at this point.

FYI, I got the email below about a week ago when I contacted AZDHS regarding changing cultivating status:

"We anticipate that the Medical Marijuana Program online change feature to be available in the next few weeks. In the interim we are honoring requests for individuals that may want to change their cultivation status or to add/designate a caregiver. You may contact us at [email protected]. This email account is monitored continuously for custom issues. Thank you for your patience as we continue working diligently to launch the change feature."

One of my patients contacted them 5 days ago (didn't allow me to cultivate for them) and we have not heard a response yet though. I just contacted them again today. I will keep you posted...

I am emailing them tomorrow with the rest of my patients. I've had to turn down dozens for this reason, now I can go back to being picky like I started.

Very interesting and it was easy to predict. Huge swaths of deserted land and the pros in charge want to spreadout the dispensarys. Hell the entire northern area of the State barely has 100 patients. Same with the East and the West.
And now everyone and their mom is growing. Even if they ever open a disp, nobody is gonna go get filmed paying 300 to 400 for a OZ.

As soon as dispensaries open up all those patients "trying" to grow will finally have decent harvest but the card will expire and they can't legally grow anymore. So no, it is not that clean cut.

I'm still curious of what the Fed response will be regarding the lawsuit AZ filed. I haven't heard/seen any news yet.

The numbers will not support a disp in vast areas of the state and they have let the cat out of the bag so to speak. People who have a card wont stop growing their medicine for under one hundred an OZ and go pay three plus for stuff not as good as what they grow.

Disps may work in Phoenix, maybe Tucson but thats it.

People will not stop growing even if there is a dispensary next door. Or we could be forced to go to sobel's compassion club for $75 for 1/8 oz.

Hey Master. I am not sure if you saw it or not, but I was notified yesterday that the official change forms are available on the DHS website now.

"The change forms are available on the the application page on the website at this time. Just go into the the patient application, agree to the terms and you will see the new option.
Thanks for your patience."
