Thanks I guess that's how I'm going to vent it than getting the Y
i would ask at lowes or home depot or where ever you get it for some type of gate to prevent back flow into the dryer. Just tell the guy your growing weed and your venting your hot air out the tent through the dryer vent and he will set you up. For real my home depot guys see me coming now and ask what im doing to my grow room now hahahahha!

Using a wye to hookup the dryer and ventilation to one port is retarded if you ever wanna use the dryer without back pressure on the exhaust. Punch a fucking hole in the wall or roof for a vent and do it right FFS.

like i said if you use the Y then you will want a gate as well which allows air to flow from the dryer and not the opposite direction

Thing is when two devices are fighting to use that 4 inch vent it's not gonna be pretty "gate" or not.

Chances are the dryer will detect excess heat from the back pressure and not operate properly.

Does he really need to vent it outside for a tent? I don't know how big the tent is but....I have a closet that had 450 watts of DIY led's during the summer and the highest temp it reached was 81 degrees. Which is kinda ok I think. I can't increase the humidity to the proper VPD but I still grew plants. I do have an air duct going directly into the closet so it gets plenty of cool air from the air conditioner.

Maybe going overboard for one tent?
