Insulating your growroom

Ok so ive been on here for a while and got some good advice, but there are still things i am unsure of...

One of these things is how to effectivey insulate your entire grow op.

The main reason i want to do this is to avoid detection by the police helicopters, i know everyone says they cant see directly "inside" your house but im sure if there were enough hps bulbs on the go they could pick that heat signature up. Anyway - regardless of whether they can or cant - id like to insualte just for my own peace of mind.

So my idea was to go with the hydroinnovations setup using a secret jardin 240x240x200 tent with 4 x 600w hps lights and digital ballast all air cooled using completely sealed sunlight supply blockbusters.

However i live in the uk and ive been told that all of that isnt necessary for growing in this climate and that a simple tent with in and out fans and carbon filter will work just fine.

It does however still pose the problem of where to vent - and to be honest i cant think of anywhere.

With the hydroinnovations setup there is no need to vent anywhere as the air exiting the air cooled lights and ice boxes goes directly back into the tent which is ideal.

Now the problem is... if i want to insualte the entire op with plasterboard and loft insualtion im not entirely sure of how to do it.

If i go for the hydroinnovations setup then i could insualte the entire flowering tent and just put a door in the exterior - keeping smell and noise in and ensuring no heat signature.

Now if i go for a standard setup would i have to insulate leaving openings in the insualted frame for the air to get in and out?

And what about a veg room - i personally cant wait any longer than two months for a harvest so i would need to have a veg room in there too and id ideally like it fully insualted as well.

So... do i build one big enclosure and put a veg tent and flowering tent inside (i will be using tents i forgot to say) - how would it work for the veg area if i fully sealed it - would i have problems with air in and air out.

I know thats a lot to read but suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Could i insulate the entire thing and have an identically sized veg room in there too using metal halides with air cooled hoods and air blowing back into the veg tent based upon the same principles?

anyone.... ive seen people insualting growrooms before but usually they have some kind of air in and air out through the roof of the growroom - this way would eliminate the need for venting in and out altogether.

If you set it in your mind. You can build all your shit rather than ordering premade. It's your money

well the good thing about buying tents is... if you move home then its pretty simple to take down and pack up for your next location - i cant say the same for the insualted frame tho

i want an fully insualted operation and this would sort my venting issues - i know it would be quite expensive but im sure it would pay for itself in time

i had never thought about using air cooled metal halides as i usually veg with fluoros but i suppose the principles of the flowering room could be applied to that of the veg room.

i just want to get it all straight in my head about exactly what im doing - i could run the veg room off the one chiller as well with all the ice boxes attached and then seal the entire op meaning no heat signature and no need for external venting in or out.

to protect your self from eyes in the sky you need a radiant barrier . google it. radiant barrier should be used as a supplement its not enough alone. home depot sells a great product, its like aluminum bubble paper i lined entire growroom with it. its also very reflective like Mylar. check it out. sorry no links but google is fast enough gl.

instead of buying a tent buy wood and wallboard and build a room in a room. use 2"x4"x8' boards so you can insulate with 4" fiberglass matting. its more work but cheaper to do.

Ok if u can vent in to attic that would be best with carbon filter and in a tent dont think cops are lookin for small grow in a tent, and if that where the case there would be alot of doors kicked in for the oven been on!!
