In order to deal with climate in a sealed room I will be installing a minisplit.
I had some questions about the install:
It is a YMGI 24000 BTU 18 SEER and the installation manual is https://www.breezzone.com/index.php?controller=attachment&id_attachment=11 (Or you can just find the manual on their website if you're afraid to open the link, but things are probably the same on most of them but this is the first site I could find the manual for this one on).
I do understand I will be voiding the warranty by doing it myself, and I do have outside HVAC experience just on vehicles but I have a few questions on these so I'm hoping there's some stoners with experience on here.
1. It says I can install it with the outdoor unit higher but that I just need a p-trap in the lines. Except it shows that if there's not a downward slope it will leak. It looks like there's just a catch basin for condensate that gravity drains in the manual.
I'm thinking I need to run the drain line to a condensate pump first? Are there any special ways to do this? I could just drop the drain line straight to the floor and put a condensate pump there and then run it up to the hole in the wall. then run as normal.
2. So the only evacuation/vacuum equipment I've used was pretty much dummy proof, no gauges or manifolds just a simple set of instructions and kind of like PC operated. I don't have that available to me for this.
So it looks like I just use an adapter to hook up the vacuum pump to the service port via the low side gauge and then the center line from gauge to vacuum pump and keep the high side closed using standard automobile gauges and draw the necessary vacuum then wait 30 minutes and if I don't have any pressure loss then I open the high and low ports and get her goin?
There's wiring and breaker sizing and other issues that come with this, I don't want to seem like I'm over simplifying it to trick someone who isn't competent in trying, there's just a few parts I was unsure of.
