Insect Repellent ideas?

there is bugs eating the leafs on my plants, i was wondering if anyone knew any homemade insect repellent recipes? that would help me out considerably

washing up liquid as in liquid hand soap, dish soap, laundry soap? and it wont hurt the plants any?

have you tried this before ?

In order to stop the eating it is pretty important to know what is eating the leaves. Soap is good for repelling some insects but some soaps are also really bad and you won't want them on your plants. There are hundreds of home remedies for repelling or killing insects that have been developed by gardeners before synthetic-chemical horticulture became normal. Pictures of the bug or the damage would help.

Don't do that.
First figure out what bugs you have, then figure out what to do and how much to use.
If you DO use soap, you're just trying to smother the bugs, not wash your fucking car.
As CC said, post pics so you can get help figuring out what they are first.

Say garlic, rosemary, habaneros..make a tea add some to water with a couple drops of Dawn. Spray. Seen it but not used it.
