Input on air pots

So I was wondering about people's input on air pots. I'd prefer only input from those using them or have used them. I plan on using ffof which I got super cheap 2 very large bags for 30 bucks mixed with some extra perlite. The plants will be grown under 10 42 watt cfls also another good deal on bulbs for veg and flowering. Anyways back on track I've seen good results with air pots for smaller spaces with decent size grows. The only con I have seen is watering more often and that isn't an issue to me.

Well I'm gonna nudge this a bit. I purchased 1 1 gal airpot and 1 2 gallon airpot on the zon I guess I'm gonna find out how they work soon enough. Still would not mind any input thanks guys and gals.

Yes I definitely recommend air pots or root pouches for drainage and air saturation, seen too many cases of water stress not to use them.

might want to start seedlings in something other than ffof...as its too nutrient rich for most seedlings.
I ran about 5 to 6 gallons through a 3 gallon pot two times to leach all the nutrients out. Then I let it dry for about a week turning it witch a small hand shovel everyday. It actually worked perfect seedlings did not burn on some test subjects I ran before using good genetics to make sure my setup is going to work. Thank you though for that advice I do not mind any input as long as it is good input. Thanks new age I have grown before but I used normal pots or buckets. I did alright for some little cfls in a closet. Air pots 're something new out since then lol. A lot of new information on led's and such. To me anyway it seems that way lol.

Ive used air pots, root pouches and nursery pots. The air and root pouches seem to perform better and grow a healthier plant. Though nursery pots do fine as well. You do have to do more watering with the two but im a hands on type person so i don't mind. Gonna find a pic of my ladies in those pots. Gimmie a bit

I did research on the air pot and the smart pot. Talked to a few growers in Colorado about both that are using them for their personal medical grows. Both perform very well and are great pots for beginners and pros alike. The smart pots came to me highly recommended, mainly because they are 1/3 the cost. The air pots look cool and may stand up to the test of time a little longer, but for the cost, the smart pots have done me very well. http://www.amazon.com/Smart-Pots-5-Gallon-Soft-Sided-Container/dp/B002JUOWB2/ref=sr_1_2?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1445038832&sr=1-2&keywords=smart+pot+5+gallon

Awesome thanks for the info, I'm looking to run some smaller more dense plants in smaller pots not sure if I'm gonna grow a mother plant and clone but I defiantly have a few thoughts. The air pots seem to be a good way to go. I don't want to get involved in a more complicated grow just trying to stay on the kiss theroy. So the more buffers I give myself is well worth a lower ending yield compared to no yield . Feel free to post your grows here I enjoy seeing and reading about results. Boost my confidence lol.

I have a couple big ones from some other store.
Probably 7.5-10 gal.

They take up a fair amount of real estate so I only use them for lst'd monsters that get vegd out for a while. The normal size are perfect for a regular run.
Never had happier plants than I have in those bags.

Been told that grocery bags are a big no! The dyes and other chemicals they use making these will leach in.

I love them you never ever have to worry about over watering with these bags.I use the big aluminum trays they use to make lasagna in to catch runoff i never have to soak up the runoff 1-2" sits in the pan after I water them next day its all gone it just wicks right back into the plant. Plus the lights help too.

Thats all bullshit man I know growers who has used them for years they never had a problem, besides they produce some great weed your plants are healthy because your roots are air pruned my plants thrive in those bags.

Why dont we all get our visas out and buy a couple dollars worth of air pots.

Instead of debating about a shopping bag like homeless people in vegas!

You never suck the runoff up? Can that turn into an issue with salt buildup etc?

i use air-pots and i like them.

pros: i can keep a plant in a .3 propagator for a long time if i need to with no ill effects toward the plant (these plants do require different care). they store well as they lay flat. they clean up easily. they've held up over the last two years very well with repeated use. you use less medium and still get great results.

cons: you have to water more frequently, but to me that's not a big deal. it was difficult to get rid of the gnat infestation i had a while ago because of all the holes and because you do need to water more often because they dry out quicker. there is definitely a learning curve with the air-pots as far as watering requirements of cannabis imo. you have to water a bit differently because of the holes, but that's just part of the learning curve. some are showing wear two years later where the screw goes to connect the pot together--i haven't noticed the propagators having a problem with this, just the rest of the sizes--but this is not affecting how they go/stay together.

overall, i would recommend the air-pots. i've used solo cups to start a few runs with and did notice a major difference because of the root system. i'll try to remember to edit this post later tonight with a picture of the root system of a clone so you can see it. rogue hydro has the best prices on the air-pots. (i just ordered some more 5-gallon air-pots from them as well as some 14-inch saucers. i've been using the 3-gallon to flower with and finally have my first 5-gallon flowering now.)
