"Inner" buds unfinished but outter trichs amber

My most recent plant has some pretty large buds. 12 weeks into flower, the outside looks proper and finished (amber trichs, hairs pulling in) but after cutting some buds off and trimming, I'm noticing that the buds closer to the stem are a pale green, don't have many trichs on them, and look kind of like my plant that is 4 weeks into flowering. These buds are completely covered / hidden from the light by the outter buds, which may be why they look so 'unfinished'. Is there anything that can be done about this? Is this normal at all?

They seem to have a good amount of foxtailing as well

Nothing you can do once it's cut. Next time harvest only the ripe buds and leave the rest. Most plants don't ripen uniformly, think tomatoes pick the red and leave the green.

The thing is the 'ripe' buds and the unripe buds are connected to each other - like the outter quarter inch is ripe, and once you get to the inner quarter inch near the stem it is unripe. It isn't possible to only harvest the ripe buds

You are chopping too early then or need better lighting
Foxtailing? What is your temps and humidity?

I'm no fan of big buds like that, mold city.
How close are lights to your plants, intensity causes foxtailing as well, I got a sativa doing same thing your plant is right now :(


Also, it well still be a good/great smoke regardless of it looking like that, you'll still love it I'm sure.
