Inline Fans are too loud!!

Currently running a 400hps, and am having temp issues. What's a reliable, QUIET, inline fan. Have one 6inch booster and not running a scrubber. Another booster is on the way. Temps are a low of 78 and a high of 95!!! If the 2 fans don't work Im going to have to get a real fan but I have thin walls and it needs to be as effectively quiet as possible.

get a fan speed controller and a duct muffler.. i use both, and they cut my sound down by a good 75% or so i'd say..

Panasonic 240cfm draws about half an amp, whisper quiet if you wrap the box in rubber foam and use insulated ducting. $133 from westsidewholesale $209 retail. Also, hang it on rubber straps = no vibration through the walls.

This one is 1.4 sones the HTG is twice as powerful but 52 db is about the same as a dishwasher. 1.4 sones is probably about 33 db. Its quieter than a small non-oscillating fan from Lowes that was like $15.

Get the largest diameter you can reasonably fit and use a fan controller to slow it down. I have a tiny closet grow and use just a typical 6" centrifugal blower with a router speed control. With the filter attached, I can hear only a whisper from directly outside. Honestly the vent from the furnace blowing air into the bedroom is louder.

Like others posted, bungee cords are a great idea. I placed mine on some foam, like from a pillow and have no vibrations, even if I put my ear against the wall.

Also you might try some of that egg crate foam that is sold online. It's designed for sound dampening and will deaden a lot of the whine that some motors have.

Oh and booster fans dont work for shit; they are axial fans and therefore don't hold well at all to pressure, which a carbon scrubber creates plenty of. Since you're using a 400W, I'd say you've probably got a stinky plant under it, which means you'll need a carbon scrubber. Adding another booster fan wont work.

I don't really need a scrubber. Sound is my issue. I had that one fan from htg before, and that was the one that was way too loud. I need something that doesn't need a scrubber on it to quiet it down. Thanks alot for all the input.
