Inducing flowering too early-plants grown from seed? pics

I am wondering if anyone has ever had problems with Herms by switching to 12/12 before sex is fully determined?

This question only applies to plants grown from seed. I know you can put clones in 12/12 anytime.

I recently sprouted some Avalanche bag seed. This is my first run so I wanted to use free seed to get my system dialed in instead of buying a shitload of clones and wasting them. Things are running perfectly but now Im concerned about wasting electricity on Herms! They were all at about 7 weeks from sprout and 1-2 feet tall when they went into the flower room. Most of them have showed to be female and Ive been destroying any males as soon as they're identified.

I have clones and fem. seed on the way to restock the veg room but my main concern is all this run, that has been flowering 2 weeks, could be worthless.

Problem: I've read that 12/12 before sex is fully determined will promote Hermies.

Question: Has anyone put their non auto-flowering seedlings under 12/12 then determined sex? and If so have you had good results?

Your hermie problem is probably gentic if anything. You don't have to wait till they show preflower to flower, most indoor growers have no idea until a couple days-weeks into flower. Some growers go straight from seed 12/12 although I had poor results the time I tried, but no hermie.
