As far as purple strains go -- I've only smoked grandaddy. A buddy of mine grew some and it tasted like a super-strong, fruity pine cone. I think I still have some of the nug he gave me almost a year ago. I didn't even want to finish it. It made everything else I ripped in my volcano bag taste like grandaddy for about a week.i knew you missed it. i actually did not grow that. a buddy of mine did. i hate purple. smells and tastes like dirt and flowers. the last thing i want to do is purposely make my green weed purple. it would RUIN it.
He still grows it though. I guess it's an acquired taste that I've yet to acquire.I have heard good things about sweet purple, though. I might try out a grow.

Do all the purples have that flavor? It's pretty intense. Some people are really into it ...different strokes I suppose.yeah, like a pine cone, that fell into the dirt, next to some flowers.
i can honestly say that EVERY purple i have tried has at least a hint of that smell/flavor. i have smoked bud that was called purple but was actually green. it did not have that flavor. it may be the actual taste of the purple pigment. or whatever is giving it that color. i can honestly say i can taste the color. if it has purple color, i can taste it. kinda weird.

I havent smoked grand daddy purp but the purps I have smoked all have tatsed and smelled different anywhere from a coffee smell to trix cerals with tatses from strong over powering to light and fruit tasting..maybe its that cali purps that you get FDD lol

I would think the higher levels of anthocyanins that exist in purple strains, would have a distinct flavor to it like chlorophyll does.
Maybe that's what gives it the mineraly or "dirty" flavor.

Highlife just for fun your technique doesnt involve cold temperature induction, food coloring or any artifical coloring products and is not a sea kelp induction such as purple maxx correct?
