Indoor, Week 5, Sudden Wilting

Everything was fine and then suddenly at week 5 with no warning all my plants are starting to wilt a couple hours before the lights go off. Lights go off for 5 hours and on for 19 hours. When lights first kick on they are watered(15min flood) within the next 2 hours everything looks great. Ive used this cycle on all my crops and never seen this before. I pulled one of the pots and the roots are white and are not dry. Using silcia rock medium on a flood and drain bucket system.

-RO Water w/ CNS 17 Nutes
-Ambient Temp about 83 degrees
-No spotting or yellowing. Leaves just arent as green as usual.
-No bugs
-4 ft from lights
-Good airflow

Not sure whats going on. This is a first time I've had this problem. Could use some serious help.:-(

sounds like theyre running out of water, maybe give em a top up a couple of hours before lights out. Or set to x2 a day instead of once. But dont listen to me cause im a noob lol

I was watering 4 times a day but I thought I was over watering. So I kicked it down to 2 and there has been no change. Currently I've got my cycle set to once when the lights kick on, in the middle, and 1 before the lights go out. Im wondering if I have a nute deficiancy, but Im not sure if that is possible since the leaves are only wilting.

I never water before lights out:lol:I like mediums that you water wet and don't water again till the bucket is lite weight:eyesmoke:

That's the thing, I took one of them while they where wilted and emtied the rock out till I got to the roots and there was plenty of moister there and like I said I have tried more watering and less and it hasn't made a difference. Once the lights come back on they look fine for about 16 hours of the 19 that there on and then start to wilt till the light go off and then once there on again they look fine. Hell I have been doing this for a long time and have never had this problem.

Probably best to water them three times during the light cycle. The other factor that can cause wilting like that is the temperature of the roots. If that gets too warm that can cause wilting. The third flood cycle closer to lights out is like a cool down for them.

What is the EC you are feeding them at the moment, and pH?

ppm is 850 and ph is 5.8 to 6.2 but right now I am flushing with staight water and going to put fresh nute water back to them today once I wake up hoping this will help. Right know I am flooding 3 time a day on there light cycle.

the plants look healthy for the most part, there just wilting for some reason a few hours before the lights go out.

Should be fine to leave it at 850 then if that is the case. When you increase the watering regularity you are also increases the amount of nutrient being delievered to the roots. Sometimes plants will react to that, and the solution is to drop the EC slightly to compensate.

3 times a day should sort that wilting issue as I suspect it is associated with the buildup of heat around the drying root area. Once they get back into the regular routine they like, it all should settle down.
