Indoor vs Outdoor

damn those look incredible. I think Arjans right hand dude said it best Paraphrasing " indoors you don't get every possible cannabinoid and terpins because artificial light doesnt contain every spectrium that the sun puts out."

jesus man, i hope my outdoor grow will look 1/4 as good.
im voting for natural light and no fat electricity bill.. but you know, everyone has his preference.

im pretty sure weather here is just about perfect for an outdoor grow, very close to lebanon, very powerful sun.
we'll see bout that towards sep.

out door man. Nothing better than trucking a sheet filled with finished cannabis plants into the garage on a brisk September night. Buds given to us from the sun are more awesome than buds bought from the electric company.

i can't speak for cali with the fancypants weather, but around these parts outdoor bud pretty much blows. our growing season is extremely short and unpredictable but that doesn't stop morons from sprouting sativa bagseed and chopping it a month too early, or attempting growing techniques that are for warmer climates. "yo i got that outdo son". really? in may? in new england? no thanks. poplars' shit looks quite appropriate, but a lot of outdoor farmers don't pull that off. not around here, anyway.

well that's a shame because there's no reason they couldn't get atleast bud 60% as good as what I grow through selective breeding and climatization.... but most growers can't survive long enough to pull that off.

Most of these people have no clue. Outdoor herb is waaaaaay more stoney than indoor(of course not all the time). but in reality the more lumens you have the more THC you get.Obviously You cant compare a 1000w Hps to our sun.Don't get me wrong. i do luv the indoor but it seems to me the outdoor high out last the indoor. as far as smell, they should be equal(all depends on the farmer and his curing). the outdoor may be a little darker in color too. as far as cheap goes. the outdoor is "almost" free to grow. i grow indoor soil in a vertical octagon and the electricity its way high. there for i have to sell my flowers at a higher rate. which also means the collective/dispensary has to raise the prices.

Funny you say that about the stoneyness of outdoor crop, I've been growing outdoors (N. Cal) for many years and indoors for around 5 years.
I was blessed back in the late 1980s by learning from one of the best growers in California and I can affirm your statement. If grown to it's full genetic potential and in the right climate, outdoor cultivation will produce a much more potent plant. I supply both indoor & outdoor to a couple of collectives here in N. Cal and they feel the same way, they say the outdoor is more stony and the indoor is a little tighter.

The only reason people grow indoors is because you get buds faster at a cost. If your talking about how high you get indoor vs outdoor that all depends on strain how you take care of it and how it is dried :p

why is stuff grown outdoor always cheaper? every time i see a thread asking what the prices are like at various locations there's always a distinction between indoor and outdoor. the only reasons i can think of are pesticides and freshness. outdoor plants are more vulnerable to pests and are only really fresh at the end of the harvest. Does anyone have a better explanation for this?
with a perfect climate outdoors plants can get 14 hours of direct sunlight and flower (depending on where you live, some people live in really open areas where you get FULL sunlight. being outside the plants dont need to be at 12/12 to flower and they flower when they sense the days getting shorter. My plants all started flowering with about 13 hours and 52 minutes of sunlight everyday (even though they get about 12 full sunlight, they still are getting 2 more hours of extra indirect light which can be around 10000 lumens...

fdd has proven that with the same genetics and overall great climate outdoors rapes indoors asshole with a passion. Stop spreading these falacies that indoors is better... The fucking plant was genetically made to be grown outdoors, meaning it grows best outdoors. It is like if you take a coca plant of the mountains and try to grow it on flat land equal to see level. Hardly and cocaine is in that plant, because the plant perfers thin air and high elevation...

Dont argue with me about this, argue with people who have been growing there whole lives and they will tell you the same.

Diddnty read the whole thread. (god forgive me lol)
But the fact that outdoor growers can afford to sell cheaper due to the fact that they yeild a feild
prolly comes into play also. I have somked some very good humboldt (sp) county in the 80`s that was outdoor.
Best smoke I had found up to that point. Uncle knew a grower and made the trip and they sent him back with 2 seeds about the size of a pea.
The first leaves were huge beyond beleif. Other than that the plant only got about 2 feet tall. If we said dank back then we would have said it about that.

there was actually a high times article talking about how cannabis tests have revealed that outdoor isn't as 'dirty' as people thought. I say it's all about what you prefer, if you prefer the high of indoor, good for you, if you prefer the high of outdoor, good for you, they both should be an option for the consumer.

I can say from experience outdoor bud doesn't have to be dirty, and if you smoke the bud I grow you won't give a fuck that it didn't come from a 'controlled' environment ;)

I can honestly say I never gave a single shit where it came from as long as it worked.

Now that I am no longer invincable I would worry more about what was put on
it as far as bug poisen but I make my own now so I know what is on/in it.

yes, but i know what amazing bud looks\smells\smokes like. and your not going to WOW me with outdoor.. i might say wow this is bomb... for outdoor.. but none of it will compare to a top shelf indoor.

argue it all you want.. ill tell you like i tell the people that rock LEDs... prove me wrong and ill shut up.

as far as effectiveness goes, nothing has topped the dankest outdoor I've ever smoked (I've tried a bunch of indoor bud....)

like I said to each their own, this plant started outdoors not in, growing indoors doesn't compare to growing in a prime environment, sorry you think differently, it will only hold you back in the end man.

old school people who think like you are the ones that get held back.. this is the new age, get with it or get left behind. i have a controlled environment, i can do everything but make it rain. your trying to tell me that hps bulbs aren't comparable with the sun after how many years they have had to perfect it ?. there is no way in hell that you can make a bud look\taste\smell as bomb outside. my temps dont fluctuate more than ten degrees, EVER. outside your bound to get shitty days, resulting in the plant not being stoked. my plants love everyday.

i am not getting held back i assure you that haha
