Thanks for the thoughts. I had a plant that kept sprouting the cat tails late in flower. I let it go two weeks longer than normal, then got tired of its tricks and just cut it down. But I chalk that up to retard genetics. Most breeders make sure late shooter genetics dont end up in the seeds they sell. Only crap breeders who dont know what they are doing let that shit get past them.

I chose the chocolate berry because of the genetic lineup and looks like a good chocolate taste.coacoa kush for half the price seems worth trying.I also wnt to try the cheeseberry haze sounds like a n ice cross as well.

Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to leave advice, comments, questions, or just chit chat :)

I'm not in a 'friendly' location, and I get little chance to talk to others about this hobby that consumes a chunk of my time/thought. This site is a great community for us who have to lurk in the shadows :)
Fellow shadow lurker here! I'm glad to see someone else talking about the changes in smell and trich color that sometimes takes place. I've been absolutely sure at times that my girls were displaying the behaviors you guys are talking about but always talked myself into believing that it was all in my head, lol, or that I was just stoned or something.

Welcome to my journal masscom!

Will be doing a real update in a few days when the OC gets harvested and replaced, but in the mean time I measured the plants in flower, so figured I should post the results :D All heights are above ground (does not include pot/roots).

Killing Fields #2: 48"
Killing Fields #1: 30"
Orange Crush: 15"
Hericules: 42"
Herijuana/Big-Wite: 36"
Lavendar/Blueberry-Sativa: 50" (this plant is collapsing under its bud weight and heavily tied up. This is the height it would be at if it could hold up its own buds :D)

Not a bad thing if the plants are collapsing with their own weight! :) I am sure that is a problem we all wish we had!

Last night we moved the Orange Crush to a dark closet for ~20 hours, then harvested today. It's picked up quite a lot from its blue-berry parent over the last 2-3 weeks, it's almost completely changed in appearance, and the odor has morphed dramatically. It has nearly lost the insanely strong citrus smell it's had all flower.

This plant was fimmed, like everything else in the flower room right now, however, it didn't respond well. It basically formed a canopy that took the growth shoots nearly a month to break through. Just before flower 4 tops just barely broke through, and during flower another 3 showed up as the buds grew up slightly. Anyway, this meant it had 4 decent sized dense buds, 3 more smaller but just as dense buds, and a ton of stuff under the canopy that received little to no light, didn't get big at all, and pretty much was white the whole grow. Most of it just went in with the trim and will go to oil.
You can kinda see what I'm talking about in this picture, where we've cut of half the plant, so you can see inside.

And all trimmed and hanging! Harvest weight and smoke report will come once it's smokable :)
DSCF0483.jpgDSCF0482.jpg

Ended up with a bunch of trim, will all turn into oil once it's dry. We put the trim in newspapers, and daily will stir it around a little so it dries evenly.

In its place we put a clone of the last of the bag-seed (yay, all known genetics from here on out!). The new clone is from something we flowered a while back and was quite potent, and incredibly flavorful. We're really looking forward to it.
It's only about 20" tall, but is by far the most bushy and dense plant we've put to flower so far :)

So now, this is what the flower room looks like.

And some updates on the rest of the flower room :)

hehe, till we moved from the closet to the room, my biggest grow related issue was plants that were too big; it's a great feeling to have problems like that :)

As the other half of the op and the one who gets to live with the beautiful ladies I will also say that since we moved to the room, dispite less air flow my house reaks. I think they were just so smashed in the closet that nothing was really getting out. We will have to get a filter for sure.

Yo arthor!

So yeah, as mentioned our op is split between two units in a duplex. My partner has been lurking for a while, but looks like he finally decided to stop by and say hi :)

Feel free to ask him questions, I am frequently over there looking at our beautiful girls, but he does all the work on that end, so he might be able to give insights into our flowering that I miss :)

rofl, went to microwave a few bowls of the OC, and freaking thing caught on fire! We've microwaved a few bowls from most of our harvests so far while the rest dries and cures, and this is the first time anything like that has happened. Freaked the shit outta me, just started sparking like crazy and burst into flames, lol. suprisingly most if it isn't burned, but I imagine the best parts were scorched off. Whole house reaks, lol. I wonder if it was caused by trace metals like iron, or what, never seen anything like that happen without metals in there...

Maybe next time we'll stick to 15 min in the oven...

Orange Crush yield was 26.4 grams. We estimated an oz, so not too bad. Going to let a top cure a little longer before doing a smoke report.

Lav/bbs should be ready by the 9th, and the purple kf should be ready by the 16th.

Hows the Herc coming along?
I haven't been over there when the lights are on in a few days (should make it down tonight), but last time was when I took pictures last I think. It's doing well. It's going to be a month after the lav/bbs and purp kf, and the buds seem to be developing slower than on the KF. I had to top the herc just before flower because it outgrew the veg space before a spot was open in flower, so it has 11 or 12 tops, and a whole lot more 6-8" below them. It's quite possible that by splitting this into so many tops we won't see the monster buds that the strain is known for, but this is our first one, so it's quite possible it'll grow steadily for the whole flower and end up huge (the KF slowed way down at 1.5 months).

the odor is great, a perfect mix of musky and sweet. The trichs started super early compared to most of what we've grown, so should be fuzzy as hell :)

Awesome looking plants man!! Im currently 18 days into flowering some kf, herc, and hbw along with cheesebeery haze. Was just wondering how long did it take for your purple kf to start showing the purple?

nice, sounds like you made the same order we did, but you got the cheeseberry haze that I wish we had gotten. It's on our list for next order :) Feel free to post your experiences with sannies stuff here, or start a journal and let me know of it! love to hear/see other people's experiences :)

To your question, the purple showed from the start of flower. pre-flowers were green. Started so early we didn't notice it on the buds because they were too small, noticed that the top leaves were coming in purple. The pink one took a few weeks to color, and isn't solid like the purple, but is a blotchy mix of pink and green.

I have 10 reg KF seeds! I am about to start germinating them maybe today or tomorrow. I can only do 2-3 to stay legal so maybe next time I will order fem seeds from sannies. I had a problem with hermie's when I got fem from Nirvana so I am a lil sketchy about it. But what I was thinking lately is either deal with males that you get no bud off of with reg seeds or deal with hermies from fem seeds and you still get a little bud off them. So may as well go with fem seeds.

a properly made fem seed should be no more inclined to hermie than the genes received from the parents dictates. At least theoretically, hehe.

I will say, I have poured over all of the info sannie has on his forum. His own grow journals, his breeding journals, and specifically the journal where he details his killing fields selection. He talks about putting the offspring through a large number of stress trials to identify hermie prone genetics. He spends several weeks constantly changing light schedules, jacks the heat up, jacks the heat down, alternates between extreme temps, ties stuff down, etc. He basically does everything he can to encourage a hermie, and tosses any offspring who respond. Of course, hermies are always possible, but I do know he takes a lot of precautions to ensure we're getting great genetics.
