Indoor Newbie question on tent size and retaining warmth...

I have an xtra sun 6 hood w/ 1000 HPS and wondering what the best tent size would be for this. I was considering an 8'x4'x6.5' tent but is this too big for just the one light?

Considering a tent because growing in my garage is more challenging than i thought. The cold is freezing my plants and thought the tent would help retain heat from the light.

What do you xperts think? Should i go with a smaller tent? Will a tent help insulate heat during the winter?

thanks in advance

I have a 600 watt HPS in a 4x4x6.5' tent and it works fine. I would think a 8'x4'x6.5' tent should be good. and tents are perfect for storing heat. It actually is so good at it, it becomes a problem. And many growers are faced with how they will flush out the heat.

work it out, you want 60w per sqft, you have a 4x8 floorplan = 32 sqft, 32 x 60w = 1920.

2x1000w would be ideal for this tent, cooling will be needed of some sort.
I am running 2 x 600w in the same size tent, am considering adding 2x 600w mh to get the watts/sqft up and diversify the spectrum...
