indoor medical growing legality in SAN FRANCISCO

Ok so, I'm moving out of the TL to a new apartment in north beach, I'd really like to have a moderate sized personal indoor medical garden. Does anybody have any experience growing in a rental? I'm not worried about getting into legal trouble, im just worried about being evicted over it when some uptight 30something financial dist yuppie notices the smell, lights, whatever, somehow. I know the best prevention is to never let anybody find out. but it would really really suck to be evicted.

any thoughts?

You pretty much nailed it. Don't get caught. Run it just like it's illegal, but at least rest assured knowing it's only going to get you evicted not relocated (jail). If the landlord finds out they will kick you out. Almost certainly. And most lease agreements state that you can't do anything illegal in the rental which would include growing pot (illegal by federal law).

they cannot evict you because you grow your medicine its that simple.....
They can and they will....

Doesn't matter if it's medication, it's an illegal activity and the landlord doesn't have to condone it. Just because you don't like a law doesn't mean you can claim it's something it's not.

Keep your grow to yourself and work on security so you don't get evicted.

well i mean it is legal in the city and county of SF to have 12 females i belive? with a doctors rec of course. but i suppose they could always pull the illegal under federal law card?

Yup. There is a very good chance they will pull this card. There's no reason they wouldn't, it's known to be the law in California. You wouldn't be the first and you wouldn't be the last.

It's unfortunate, but we gotta hide it.

I didn't say that you shouldn't stay stealth renting...... but these days its a lot more likely that the landlord wouldn't want to go to court etc to have you evicted (and less likely they were to succede were they too). Dude, Im a renter, med prop 215er, it would go to state court and no further without an appeal that the federal courts really don't want to deal with. Stick to the state minimums for personal medical use, and the dea will even leave you alone...... I've been through it!

Yeah...I lived in the TL for 3 years...Turk and Jones, baby. Da Hood. I live in the East Bay now and my landlord told me he "didn't want to see any marijuana". I take this to mean...he doesn't want the Feds thinking he condoned tenants growing MJ.
One thing about SF is that renters have seriously protected rights. It's almost impossible to evict someone...even if they stop paying rent.
Keep your grow stealthy...odor is your only real concern.

PS...it's San Francisco! Chances are that the manager or maintenance guy or someone on the Landlord team is a stoner. San Francisco is totally different from any other American city...in a super-good way!!
