Indoor growers: how do you ventilate?

You wouldn't want to have anything else then a very modest grow operation without ventilating your apartment. If you don't ventilate, the same air would simply circulate, get moist and produce mold. Not good. You need to dump the exhaust air from your grow tent out.

Obviously that works of you have a house. But I live in a smallish apartment. Before the winter comes and it starts to get seriously cold, the apartment would get unacceptably warm from the HPS lights.

People normally just vent it out the window. Just make sure theres a carbon filter involved so nobody smells your plants.

That's exactly what I do, but they can still easily hear the fan noise from outside. Something I should be worried about?

My flower room has a ceiling fan that runs 24/7. In warmer weather I put a 20-inch box fan on the floor in the doorway. I make sure the fan is placed so it "sucks" from the room to the hallway. BigSteve.

I removed a dome light in the ceiling, and vent into the frame of my home. I just wish it actually gave me a heated floor feeling on the second floor.
This should work for an apartment though. Just make sure you have a good filter. If no light or fan to remove, just cut a hole in the ceiling, and patch it later.

people get scared of patching holes. they should go ahead and buy a 2'x2' piece of sheetrock from home depot and practice. it is too easy.
