Thought this would be interesting....

Growing in a Rubbermaid plastic tote partially lined with aluminum foil. Will be replacing the foil with flat white paint shortly.. As of right now (not even sprouted yet!) they are germinating in a red party cup with coco soil for seed starting. Soon as they sprout theyll be placed under 4x 23W cool CFL bulbs for 18/6.

Thats all the info I have at the very moment. I will snap some pics of the cup of dirt and my box and light rig shortly. Check back in a few days :)

As soon as my seedlings come up Ill have a couple pics up! I have never grown chamomile before (from seed). Its one of my favorite herbs. I used to buy chamomile from my local herb store but then came across some plants that were already started. They were very easy to grow in the arizona sun and clayish dirt so Im hoping theyll love my box and the CFLs! I may make a second box specifically for an herb garden is this goes well.

Thanks for the interest, check back in a couple days and the grow journal will be under way! Peace + Light

UPDATE! My seeds have JUST sprouted! They are nearly microscopic! Not quite but ULTRA tiny. At first I wasnt sure until I REALLY looked close and sure enough they have just broken ground. They are still way way too small for my iphone camera to pick up so its still gonna be a couple days until I post a pic of what Im working with because well there just isnt anything to see at this point :)

So I have sprouts and in they go to my CFL box with my other babies :)

Here they are, still so tiny. Theres probably about.... 50 seeds in the cup spread all over evenly. The package says to thin to 1" but last time I had chamomile it was in a cup just like this and was jam packed with chamomile so I dont think I will be thinning. In a couple weeks Ill give them some 5-1-1 organic based fish fert at 1/8th" strength for starters to see what kind of results I get. I will adjust from there if I have to, im just really not sure AT ALL how chamomile responds to nutes. I didnt use any nutes at all for my last chamomile (which was also outdoors in the desert) and there were TONS of buds all over the plant so Im thinking as soon as I start getting flower production I will switch to a blooming fert (not sure exactly which just yet, suggestions? money is limited). When I transplant to a larger pot I will probably let some flower fully mature to drop seeds (i think thats how it works anyways, like sunflowers, we shall see!)

I will get some pics up of my grow box and CFL setup. Theres some light leaks I need to take care of and I need to remove the foil from inside and paint it white. Soon as thats done this journal will be in full bloom :)

Just as a side note, dont be surprised if you see some other herbs growing alongside the chamomile as well. Purple basil, cilantro, and dill. Some of my favorite herbs and I have experience growing them too! We will see tho

Edit: Not sure what type of light schedule chamomile enjoys. For not as a trail run I cam giving them the 18/6 treatment with my other seedlings. Just went into the 6 hours darkness period, in 6 hours I will post a progress report to see what results have come from the light schedule (if any) Thanks for watching :)

Lots of new sprouts since last photo!

I know I said this would be an indoor CFL grow but im trying to get myself a MH/HPS combo. I found a decent one (i think lol) with a dimmer so if its too big for my area I can turn it down to what fits my needs, and if I upgrade my area I wont be stuck with a weak light :D

But this is where Im at for now... Like I said more herbs maybe added to my box so who knows what gonna pop up next.
Hoping to get a lot of new growth in the next couple weeks with actual flowers in 3 months. Seed pack says 120 days so thats what im hoping for :)
Thanks for watching :)

Somewhat of a growth explosion over the past couple days. I should mention I took them out of my box and stuck them in a window, the one you see in the photo as a matter of fact. i will be moving them outside soon. These are 9 days from seed.

Got some branches poppin up on the sprouts. Starting to get a little bigger. Expecting a huge flush of growth in the next couple weeks when he has more leaf structure. No pics for now, still too small for my iphone camera to pick up any details.

^^^ The sprouts pic'd above look kinda like cannabis when it's just a seedling!
I'm curious to see what the flower looks like on this herb! ....Ya know, chamomile can be vaporized as well as used in a tea? I've tried it before. It's interesting! But, I do prefer the tea and then vape just my cannabis

Ha! I thought the same thing when they sprouted up. Little tiny cannabis sprouts! I had NO idea you can vape them!!! I was planning on making some heady tea with some sass, kava, the chamomile, and valarien root but I think im gonna pick up a vape and try that first!

Heres a pic and my phone camera can pick up the ones with have branched out much better than i initially thought! photo(1).jpg

Gah, not sure why my phone keeps turning the picture.. maybe i need to turn the phone LOL.

Anyways, you can see a couple sprouts that have not only branched out but started some leaf development. Like I said Im expecting a growth spurt here pretty soon! Once they are a bit bigger and stronger Im planning on feeding them 1/4 strenght fish food 5-1-1, probably in 2 or 3 weeks but for now the nutes that came in my soil (burpee organic coco fiber) are supplying just enough for the seedlings to thrive. I really wasnt expecting these to grow that fast as the last chamomile plants I had didnt grow this fast, but they were also mature and already flowering so that may have something to do with it...

Oh! a few are starting to reach the rim of the cup which means they will be getting more light. There always seems to be a shadow cast halfway through the cup so I have to turn it often.
Ive been looking at pictures of chamomile LAWNS... How bad ass would that be!!

^^^ You can also vape Valerian and Kava. You can make a cup of tea and vape the same mix, as well!

Using chamomile as a lawn is a cool idea!!!.....
