So I really had to make room in the Flower room

The flowers looked like this:

I trimmed all the leaves, and kept the sugar for later....

Then Put them all in their closet...

Just want to make sure I'm not over trimming... Thoughts?

they were grown in miracle grow soil, no nutes were added. Switched to Aero, hence needing the additional space. Is the purple caused by the soil? The Sativa plants didn't have any purple in them, and were grown exactly the same way. (this is my first grow so I am definitely a nube!) And thank you for the response!

No- purple is not caused by nutes or the soil
Purple is the natural reaction of SOME strains of cannabis when they are approaching harvest-- it is the chemical reaction of the plant breaking-down the chlorophyll and producing /using the carbs in it's system to produce the yellows/reds/purples to protect it from the expected cooler weather... just like trees do in the fall.
It is a GOOD thing to have...
If a plant is 100% green, no yellowing etc at harvest- it is most likely harvested early- or grown in a 'warmer than optimum" environment.

YES- you need to flush the plants- especially if you used the time-released chemical MG soil... if it was the all organic-- you are fine.

Keep in mind-- some plants need more nutrients- and MG all organic soil is a great start, but some may need additional flowering nutes after week 4 or 5 of flower... but if that is MG time-released-- find different soil! you have zero control over the nutes, and it is too strong for many strains and you can't adjust it-- and you can not FLUSH it except by uprooting the plant, and setting it in a DWC bucket for a few days (changing the water daily)

Had great results in the past with just plain tapwater + MG potting soil(with added MG perlite)
MG doesn't get flushed at one time> it is slowly leaching out until the plants done.
Trying to flush MG soil will result in overfeeding/overwater
Less control over nutrients, but also very easy to use successfully.
I've moved on to soil-less now, trying to get the benefits of soil+hydro.

@ gregorym - I was joking about the purple nute residue. Bud looks great. Harvested this one a few months back during some cold weather. I love purple too.

looked pretty decent, and the purple color could be from temp drop some strains tend to tinge or turn fully purple, in lamest terms. Sure this has been said. hope it smokes smooth.

HAPPY GROWING

okay, also iced down and bagged the sugar..this is the yield next to my 1 month sobriety coin! It amazes me what can come from one plant!
+rep for the sobriety coin and congratulations on a very successful completion of your grow. You did good. Nothing beats smoking the pot you grew, such satisfaction.
