I have seen plenty of 3-4-5 and even 6 page threads here of nothing but post after post of bickering, and personally I think it has seriously decreased the quality of our board. Granted I lurk mostly and rarely come out to post unless I have something important to say.
Too many of you let others steal your joy! Timmahh, for instance. I have read plenty of your posts, and the majority of them are very informative and I for one, appreciate AND respect your opinions. I agree with many of them, while there are a few things we disagree upon. The thing that sucks is when I see you created 4 threads that are still on the first page, all of them calling bob harris out by name, and when I see you constantly mention him and call him out in your posts, it detracts from your credibility and general positive aura man. I usually enjoy reading your posts until I see bob harris mentioned, then I skip to the next post in the thread.
Same goes for Bob Harris and alot of other users of RIU. How many times have you been balls deep in a thread when suddenly somebody posts a controversial comment and then all hell breaks loose between a small handful of users, completely ruining a very awesome and informative thread?
It's not just you and bob, it's a handful of RIU users who are only here to have a pissing contest. Usually a few trolls, contesting who can piss further into the wind, both making the RIU experience less enjoyable for the majority of us RIU'ers who are actually here to learn, help, and grow (no pun intended).
Heres another example:
Noob creates thread asking for advice as to how to make his insane yet creative idea work. Veteran flames the noob with hellfire and brimstone and ridicules said noob into feeling like a complete asshole, never to return, leaving a small fragment of his joy behind.
The veteran could have said something like "Logically it shouldn't work, try it out and take pictures! Share the experiment with us! Good luck!"
Stop blowing your (and our) buzz guys! We will never win this war if we can't learn to unite. Learn to agree to disagree on some issues or we are doomed for failure. If it is simply impossible to talk sense into someone, let them have their own opinions, and more importantly, RESPECT those opinions no matter how bat shit insane they may be. If you disagree, kindly say so and move along. People who are capable of thinking for themselves can distinguish good info from bad info pretty well. The people who can't think for themselves, well they are hopeless in life altogether. Try to have a bit of sympathy and take it easy on them. After all, they have to live life as a moron. That really is shitty.
Just ALWAYS remember, the way you handle altercations with others says a whole lot about your entire persona. Try to portray yourself in a more positive light if you wish to represent yourself in a positive way and wish to work toward the liberation of cannabis in unison!
