I dont think ive ever personally called it pot, EXTREMELY rarely if i have.

Yes, fucking exactly. There's no such thing as alcoholism, or being an alcoholic, it's fucking ADDICTION. I'm not addicted to marijuana, nor do I wanna fight someone or annoy the fuck out of my friends when I smoke it.

And yea, Ive always had kind of a negative association with the word pot. It just doesn't seem right, because things don't get fried or roasted in a pot. I've never heared a buddy go dudee, I'm so boiled! I'm sure some of u prolly have though.
When blazed me and one of my mates usually think of alternate words for 'high' to describe our state.

Some of the best include:

Skyscraping
Soaring
Tall

 funnier when ur blazed! (im at work tho )

Frankly, I think we need to throw out a curve ball to society in general with this issue.

First, lots of the acronyms weren't chosen by us, but by nerds and cops.

Second, we need to do something different and shake things up a bit.

I think we need to STEAL a word. I propose the word GAY!!!

Now now, hear me out......

Homosexuals copped the word..... (you wants to be called a word like homosexual?)
I happened to like the word gay before it was turned into "gay". It's nice, short, and easy to say...gay. All that is over with now.

SO!!! We steal the word GAY, and flip everyone out!! That will get everyone's attention.

Cops will be confused and pissed.... +++++'s there. "hey look, I think those guys are going behind the bleachers to get gay!!" Cops on TV.... yah we caught this guy being gay.....

PANDAMONIUM!!!!!

It WILL WORK!!! The Pope smokes Gay!!!!

Nah, I think no matter what you call it, it depends on the attitude of the person. Some people hate pot no matter if you call it marijuana, grass, or cannabis. We need to stop focusing so much on words and start focusing on actions.:leaf:

In my life's experience, Pot has always had a Negative Connotation

Whenever I hear my parents say it, it's usually like, "Some kids smoking pot"

Or on the news, "Illegal pot growing house raided"

Or from somebody, "You dont smoke pot do you??"

I generally think that most people that say pot (besides people that blazed when pot was a good word) have negative feelings toward Marijuana.

I mean why does the news call it Pot? Why not Marijuana to be correct?

They call cocaine cocaine, not Coke
They call Ecstasy Ecstasy, not beans

What angers me is when they discuss it and refer to it as Pot. I wish they did call it the Neutral word - Marijuana.

I think that when somebody talks about legalizing marijuana and they refer to it as, "pot" it tends to make it look like a bad idea, almost as if the negativity associated with the word pot is transferred into negativity towards the overall effort to legalize the plant.

Am I alone on this one?

you know whats funnier than "pot"? "the pot", i have an older aunt that always refers to it as "the pot" and the best part is she's dead serious. and kinda lowers her voice. a lot of her work associates, neighbors and friends smoke and grow pot and she is totally oblivious. she brought me to meet her new neighbor after she moved upcountry in hawaii so i could see his garden, tomatoes, beets, sweet potatoes... ohhh wait, whats all this next to it? it's the pot! she had no clue. it stank up the whole block. her poor neighbor was genuinely confused and tried to bring it up underhandedly to see her reaction but he failed.

that is a good story...my friends and i used to name our pieces common names, example: frank...then we would say that we were going to talk to frank...code for smoke a bowl haha luckily im in college now so i just say lets get blazed lol...and as for whoever was so strongly opposed to "shit" i would think about phone conversations and texting while using the word marijuana or weed...cops will be on your case quite quickly if they are watching at all

I don't really think of pot as a negative word, I think we should all abandon the word marijuana though. since the only reason it was invented is so the nations' farmers would outlaw the plant
