improvements to grow box

Hi everyone,
I got a few upgrades for my grow box recently. The box is 14.5 inches deep X 22.5 inches wide X 40 inches tall. The lighting is four 23 watt 6500K CFL's and two 42 watt 6500K CFL's. I got a new digital thermometer with hygrometer (humidity), a moisture meter, and replanted the two plants in 5 quart pots with drainage holes. I also have a 70 watt HPS for flowering. i was wondering if these upgrades should make my grow a little better. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the moisture meter has a PH meter and light meter all in one. I couldn't pass that up for 8 dollars.

These....

....are a waste of money in my opinion. I bought one and it's not good for much. The moisture meter seemed to always be nearly maxed out--even dry soil would read moist. And the pH meter seemed to read about 7 no matter what. It certainly didn't have enough resolution to be useful. Funny thing is, the light meter function is the part I didn't think I'd use but I've found that's the only thing that gives me information I can actually use. It helps me measure how much light is present at the margins of my grow space vs. right under the light.

I've been using this kit from General Hydroponics for pH testing my water and adjusting the pH as needed. It's less than $20, easy to use, and gets the job done.

My only other thought is you might want to switch some of those CFL's to a warmer color spectrum for flowering.

yes the picture you showed is the same meter i have. actually I put 6500K but the are really 2700K, guess I was too stoned :blsmoke:, and I used the 3 in 1 meter and the moisture and light meter seemed okay. I didn't use the ph meter though, I will let you know how that goes. The min max temp in my box is 80F/65F. That is okay right?
