i'm watching "The Village"

The "monster" represents me getting ripped off $15 at the theater!

There was a group "ahhh fuck" emanating from the crowd at the revealing moment during that movie.

Now that I've watched it a couple of times, it's a pretty decent flick. Never really thought about any deep meanings hidden in it. Gonna have to fire up some grapefruit tonight and give it a whirl and see if I discover anything :)
 
The monster was created to keep the people in the village so they wouldn't realize they were living in a ( fake ) town when the rest of the world had moved on.

it's about a town isolated by monsters. there are flags bordering the town and if you cross the line you get eaten.

is it satan? or just a "farce"? and why the challenged man? what are they trying to say? even in the most peaceful setting violence can occur. then they lie to cover it all up.
 
and the blind girl. only she is safe? she "sees" no fear. aren't the blind supposed to be more sensitive to their surroundings?
 
Ohhh I remember that movie. Kinda disappionted. Man made to keep people in line but then it sort of gets blurry there. By that point I really didn't care what happened to those crazy folks out there in the woods.
 
it gets better every time i watch it.

so the "challenged" guy is jealous. he stabs the good guy. now remember this is a village with only "peace". so he did not LEARN to kill. he felt the need. then the blind girl has to face the monsters knowing they are not real. she is still scared. she has to lie to her escorts to guard the secret. she gets the medicide. on the way back the "challenged" guy tries to get her and dies in the trap. they lie and say the monsters ate him. she makes it back to save the good guy and is left to carry on the secret.

basically it says to kill the "challenged". he was always getting in trouble. kicking people and getting locked in the penalty box. he could n't have the women he loved so he tried to kill her and her love.


i'm so high right now.
 
All I know is that a place like that where aircraft are restricted from flying over and people arent allowed in sounds like a great place to grow a crop.:mrgreen:
