Heh, Anonymous just hacked Palin's Yahoo mail account last night, and posted some of the info. I wish they'd posted more, but just from what they did post, she was clearly using the Yahoo account to conduct political business, which isn't legal. Why isn't it legal? Because then on the taxpayer-funded computers, there is no accountability, because the 'work' was done elsewhere instead of where it should have been done. (Anonymous is the group that was/is fighting some of the more deceptive and immoral activities of the Church of Scientology.)
I don't really approve of hacking email accounts, but when the person being hacked is hiding stuff, and clearly she is, and when the person hacked is trying to delay the information from reaching the public until after the election, well, this was more of a public service. I hope Anonymous releases some more of the emails, or even better for the rule of law, I hope the courts get on it.
And yes, they are real; one of the emails was already confirmed by the sender. They even included some personal family photos, to verify the veracity of the source. Maybe we'll see some justice in action and Yahoo will be subpoena'd and forced to release the rest of the email (or Anonymous will, but I'd rather the courts do it). To be sure, some of it is just personal crap. But...some of it isn't, and that's a problem for Palin, and McCain by association.
