Im so confused!!!!!!!!

i just bought a 400 watt light. its a switchable ballast so it will work for hps and mh. BUT!!!!!! there is no switch or anything to switch it to hps. i thought it would be simple and u push a switch up for mh and down for hps. BUT NOTHING IS EVER SIMPLE!!!!!!!!


does anyone know how to switch the ballast?

you need two separate bulbs, one hps, one mh. the ballast is switchable, not the lights

did you just try both bulbs if it takes both and has no switch your good to grow no?

It's a plug and play method...it will switch automaticlly.

still need a mh and a hps bulb dude

im still confused, u guys are saying i just put the bulb in and the ballast will no weather it is hps or mh???? i really dont want to just put a bulbin it yet cuz ive read that the ballast HAS to be set to hps b4 u put a hps bulb in.

do any of u guys have one of these lights?

so i got both of them

my ballast does both and i just put any bulb in at any time there is not switch button of anything just screw and grow

Again...when you plug in a HPS it will switch automaticlly...same as when you use a MH.

u guys think i can grow seedlings under 400 wat metal halide????

ive been growing them just under fluro's but i wanna put them under my mh.


they are VERY small and dont even have a full leaf yet.

i have one of these i bought it used , but it works great. it takes a 400w mh and a 360w hps from what i understand u must run a lower watt hps with this type of ballast, the package on the mh bulb shows what converson hps bulb to run and the ballast has a tag as well that show what it uses for specs. amps so on... hope this helps

Wait till they're about 2 weeks old...flouro's will work just fine...infact that's exactly what i use untill they are ready to be flowered, and then i move them to the big 1000W HPS

so i should wait 2 weeks until i put them under mh?

its crazy it takes 3 different lights to grow bud. hahaahaha
