How much and how often do I add it to the soil? Is it liquid or powder?

I'm not trying to be a complete ass here (although it sounds like it), but the answers to all of your questions are already in this forum and all over the internet. Use Google or the search function located here. I mean the last question on how often to feed the plants... it's on the bottle. It has directions. 
Also, don't listen to your roommate. Just his statement about determining the sex of a male shows he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Paint the closet under the stairs white. Buy a 600 watt grow light that goes from MH to HPS exchangeable. Otherwise just keep buying the shit. Risking getting busted is only worth it if you make it worth it. If you move forward with this little information and equipment for indoor grow your wasting your time. read a shit ton. All five roomates throw in a hundred and twenty bucks and youll do something worth your time and the risk.
