3X the amount of water. A 2 gallon pot would need 6 gallons. And your leeching the soil of salt build up not harmful chemicals. The salt build up blocks proper intake of nutes.

they recomend 3x the ammount but thats not neccesary most of the time. 4 gall of water through a little 2 gall container is plenty of water... 6 gal. imop is generally a waist. salt build up is caused by chemicals you are feeding your plant... also people have to perform emergency flushes all the time due to OVER NUTING or in other words to much chemical or in other words harmfull chemicals. sorry didnt know i had to get so in depth
