i'm watching the last NASCAR race of the year. 
got the vapor bag out as well.
6 of my jars are almost fully fuzzy.
i scooped the black shit out of the one with the black shit in it. i wore gloves and wiped everything down with 91% ISO as i did it. i filled in the empty areas with dry vermiculite. it looked ok today. a little bit of white fuzz.
all the jars are showing some type of white growth.

Sounds good. Hope it works. I doubt it though. To much room for contamination to take place I reckon.

it will be fine.
i threw the black shit out in my yard. had some white shit on it as well. i'm sure it will just rot.

i have a hard time believing that nasty germs are just floating thru the air. i used a clean spoon.

Ditto. I've wondered that ever since I knew about growing magical mushrooms. How in hell do these little molds get into my cake?

another jar had contaminants. green this time. i scooped it out and added dry vermiculite. it wasn't too bad. this was another one of the twice injected.
4 of the other twice injected looked good so far. white fuzzy.
2 if the first injected jars are showing green fuzz on top of my white fuzz. the jars were just about fully colonized then i see this tonight. these may just end up tossed into the compost bin.
4 of the first injected looked really good so i threw them into the fruiting chamber before they could start showing green stuff. they look really good. nice thick layer of fuzz. thick ropey strands running throughout it.
i have a small CFL plugged in about 3 feet away. is this enough light?

from what i understand, the light is just to help em know which way is up... should be more than plenty

it appears the two that i thought had green mold, the first injected, don't. it was simply the vermiculite shining thru the fuzz. i have 5 in the chamber now. they are getting really fuzzy. billowing fuzz all over the outside of the cakes. it's all looking really good. i see no bad stuff today.

so the first 6 cakes are all in the chamber. 4 of them are encircled with small heads all the way around the bottom of the cakes. nothing coming out the sides or top yet. the other 2 were put in a few days later so they should be starting in a few days.
the other 6 cakes are almost ready to go into the second chamber.
i think i got it.
pretty easy if you follow the directions.

some of us cant follow directions i suppose.... i understand they dry/store well
