we find them in the vineyards. my co-worker was bringing them home and fighting them. he had on that was almost 6". undefeated champion. he let it go.

Looks to me like Mexican bean beetles.
i was asking my wife the same thing this afternoon. the bag says 2 - 8 weeks, i double checked. we've had temps in the 80's for 2 months now. i put them outside in the shade on june 7. i bought some last year that didn't hatch either. i need them for the night moths. come on mantis......

i got gnats, do they destroy ur plant?
the larvae will eat your roots. try "predator nematodes". if you google it you will find a site that ships to you. predator nematodes only live in soil though.

im goin to have to get them. one time i shook the pot and a WHOLE bunch of em came out of the soil. i made some liquid soap and water mix. spraied the top of the soil. and i shook it again the next few days and nothin came out but i do see em flyin around here n there and on occationaly on top the soil.
there are many products out there that will control gnats. i have gnats. i see them on my nuggies when i look at my trichromes. i can't get rid of them. my plants are alive but i don't think the gnats are doing any good. if you have a hydro store or a nursery they can help. i only use organics but i think there is a new gnat product out that is organic. i'm rambling............
have you ever had problems with this in your potatoe garden...........lol
