How much per kilowatt hour is it in South Cali?

I am in Florida and here it is $0.04 per kilowatt hour. I pay $1000 per month for my electric bill. I read that the kilowatt per hour charge in Cali was $0.20...does that mean my bill would be $5000?

Am I forgetting something? Did I figure that right?

jesus holy fuck you use a lot of electricity!!! i am running a 2500w grow room... and even under 24/0 lighting my bill hasnt gone over 175.00 a month!! and my rate of charge is the same... 0.04 per kw/hr....

you have a 1000 dollar a month electricity bill. thats fucking crazy, my last month was 28 bucks. 12,000 a year for electricity god damn son what are you running

TO CLARIFY!!!

The $1000 per month is "Pre" RIU....catch my drift? My house is 3800sq ft and 3 old ass AC units with too much head pressure. They run non stop. Plus we have a big fucking pool that runs non stop. Plus we got tons of kids who leave the fucking lights on ALL the time...had to get me going didn't you!...lol

I've read that some places have an exponential charge per kilowatt hour. I.e. if they're charging you .04$ for 1, if you use 100 kw/h it's no longer .04$ for that 1 kw/h, it's like .20$, and the more you use the more it goes up.

Don't quote me on actual figures, those are just for demonstration.

Ahhh..got it. Thx

Hopefully I can answer your question....I live in Los Angeles.

The current eletric rates are divided into two seasons....Summer (June - Sept) and Winter (Oct - May).

The Winter rates are locked at 12.36 cents per kwh.

The Summer rates range from 12.36 to 17.34 cents per kwh, depending on your living situation and area.

I hope that helps :)

Geez...too much for sure!

Not sure how it is other places but what you pay per KWatt isnt always the final price..Added to the Kwatt charge can be delivery charges, Fuel charges for producing the power and taxes.. Where I live around NY area we pay .09 cents Kwatt but after you add up all the extras that they space out in seperate bills throughout the year the final charge is in the range or .21 to .23 so always know that is how most places hide the actual cost to make us less angry.
