Ummm......watching your plant turn yellow and start to curl up and die when you dont have years of experience to know what the problem is....have you no heart man.....Hmmm.....lets see...he can watch his babies die or ask a lame question on a growing forum......I would gladly be caled a lame ass then watch my plants die.....but thats just me....we cant all be like youkiss-ass

i think the problem your friend was having was in the name of the thread. there are so many posts that say something like "noob wit problems" i may have looked over the thread myself as i see 1000 of them a day. the other ones i see 10000 of a day is like this; HELP!!!1!!!, when can i flower and when can i harvest. i hope any information he gets is good, and his plants bounce back, even tho the problem dosnt look TOO serious

thats a good point....thread title is key.....this thread has over 200 reads in under 2 hours......compared to his thread 330 in 5 days

with a typical title, your more likely to be ignored, with a controversial title you will get alot of traffic and stay on the new posts list, now if i could get my contest poll to get so much activity...

Just a quick scimming over the threads this one caught my attention. The thread title was perfect. Look how many threads have noob. What I have found to get help dont title with noob or Help. Usually its the same questions as stated above. How long till flower. Sex issues ect got to love the masses.

im sorry to hear about what has happened..as many have said alot of people dont know much about growing and want to acted like they do..i have experience with other plants more than mj..but i still have questions..i mean ive tried different germinating techniques and different cloning..flushing straight water flushing with differnt additives, trying systems more nutes less nutes you name it ive tried it..and it was alll just for personal knowledge..ive obtained alot of thing i didnt know over the last year..just from trying new things and fucking up..ive grown for awhile but kinda of just stuck to a simple technique without ever exploring new mehtods or ideas..but now im pretty knowledge able..still few things i would like to know but it will come with time

yeah there is alot of people on here that read something that someone put on here be it right or wrong and constrew it as the one and only truth and pass it out thru the masses eventually to the point where we see post like your buddys ( someone in need of help) and they recieve a plethra of answers from illlegitimate sources and it is very disearning .... my advice look at post they have made (as you stated), dont take every thing to heart ( theres some very unintelligent people that want to seem smart) , second even third opinions are great, google is awesome ( do some research) which brings me to my lil gripe about this site all the useless post from people wanting spoon fed answers to thier problems thats why theres a search feature and my bet is your frantic problem has been answered at least a hundred times before yours so look it up...... k im gonna go smoke again lol

There may be a lot of uneducated people on here, but I think the old timers like Uncle Ben more than make up for them. You can learn a massive amount of information just by going through some of these veterans' threads, stickys or posts. If I hadn't done exactly that, I doubt my 6 ladies would still be alive...

Whaat??U say that your friend is to good and cool to read books to get the basics going??phhh man, thats stupid.pf course you can post shit like, help, my plant is yellowing, done that myself, but all comes down what you already know-so advise your friend to read up sum.

i agree with that totally thats what i ment by instead of instantlly posting, hellllllp!!!! search and read about your problem old ben, m blaze,fdd, roseman, purpdaddy and plenty of others are a damn library of knowledge all you have to do is look it up

and another problem is that alot of people trying to help dont read the post at all ive gotten responces on a heat stress problem ( i had 106*f for like 2 weeks and was frying them) the problem was solved las week and today i got a post on it saying "hey looks like a nitrogen defiency due to yellowing leaves, what are you feeding , a 20-20-20 mix at 1/4 stregnth works great in veg" if he would of read the 14 post before him it or read the title or looked at the picks he could of easily seen that this was not the problem and if he couldnt then dont give misleading info like this

This site to me is, is a support site...not an answer desk.

If people would just do a few hours of research on there own each night for a couple weeks, they would be well on their way and wouldn't have to clutter the forums with easily answered questions.

But I see so often, people that have geminated a seed and don't know which direction the tap root goes, or they are done vegging and have absolutely no idea what to do next, they don't even know the simple stuff.

Which thats okay not to know something, it's not like we were born with any of this knowledge, but those are questions that people should be answering for themselves through their own research...yet we see them daily on RIU.


Just a little research people would go a long way.


Maybe there should be a 10 question test when logging in, and make it the 10 most asked question on this site and they have to score 100% before being able to register. Force them to do a little research before hand, lol.

i remember this one dude asked like every question under the sun and i posted a few links where he could find answers. he said he didnt have time to read and i said i dont have time to type for 2 hours to answer all of this, maybe you dont have time to grow

that is exactlly what i would of said there are alot of that that goes on and then you got the guys whos straight up assholes hold on ill find this post i think its still in my subcriptions lol
