I'm confused on yield?

What lighting will I need to get 400 grams off of a plant that says yield: 400 g on the seed site? And, if it says S.O.G. yield: 450 on the seed site, then does that mean I can get 450 grams off of 1 plant under certain conditions?

if it says (S.O.G) Sea.Of.Green....it's all bout the light u gonna use... even super croping will give u a large yield.. prolly better yield than S.O.G

It can vary massively depending on the way you grow it so dont take much notice of their expected yields. We have always exceeded their predictions every time due to the way we choose to grow it.

they usually go by "square meter". you can get X amount off X strain growing in X amount of space. lighting and grow style is grower dependent.

so if it says 450 grams that means you should be able to yield 450 grams in an area 1 meter X 1 meter. growing style and lighting can vary per grower.

Most yield predictions are based on a SOG and using 600-watt HID grow lights and most also are per square meter and not per plant.

400 grams is equal to 14.109 ounces. If you believe that you will achieve a yield like that per plant you have very starry eyes my friend.

I would be dissapointed in myself if I got any less than than per plant!

You get more than 14 ounces per plant?

You should teach Greenman how to grow since he gets a quarter pound, 4 ounces or 113.39 grams, from four plants in the hydro grow video he made to teach hydro growing.

that would be nice alright. i am growing 4 jock horror and 2 whiteberry and growth looks decent and im doing this in soil 3 gal pot, with foxfarm nutes a 400 mh for veg and hps for flower and was aiming for on third to one half oz per plant and but thats with 30 days of veg. but anything better would be nice but i've read countless grow journals and most with seemingly decent growers were averaging 1-3 oz max with my type of setup. i just figured being a noob that i should expect what i am and its a bonus if i get more.

so if it says yield 400g/m2then it means that each plant needs a square meter, and it will produce 400g?and if thats the case, then that means that I would be able to use a rubbermaid tub to grow it hydroponicallyif i wanted toget 400g per plant, correct?

No they mean per square metre whether its one plant or 10.

The plant in the avatar does not have 14 ounces or more of dried bud on it. That is easily seen with the naked eye for anyone who has grown much in their life. It is not by any means a bad plant but it is not any 14-plus ouncer.

Also anyone can download pictures of plants from an untold number of sites and use them so just because there is a picture of a decent plant does not mean the person using it took a picture of their own plant.

I agree that an ounce per plant is average but Greenman has something of a assembly line production/perpetual grow system where he harvests a quarter pound every two months and not many people do that so it does add up over time to be more than a respectable amount.

Ok so if it says yield 400g/m2, and if i put 5 plants in a square meter, then will I get 400g, or will each plant produce 400g?and if i put 5 in a square meter and it produces 400g alltogether, then it would be better to put them each seperate, right?
