your not gonna get hps for 60$ plain and simple. if you wanna grow big you have to spend money. you should check out cfl's thats the best light your gonna get for your money at this point.

you gotta' get cfl's, they are your best bet for your budget. Invest in a small fan, too. An oscillating desktop one will suffice.

Yea, you definitely should look into CFLs, not HPS. It just makes more sense for only 2 plants and for your budget.

Go to an electrical wholesaler which serves trade electricians. you will find full units including ballast fittings reflector and lamp for a great price, just barter a bit and u should get one close to your budget. btw the price difference between the different outputs is very little so the choice is yours.

You can buy 400w HPS lights and MH lights from home depot for around $20 each. Just the bulbs though, no relector or ballest. Not sure how good they are and what size socket you would need to screw them into. The ones I have seen at the depot look like they screw into a standard house lamp socket. I'm sure you would not get the results from them compared to a full system purchase. But they are in the stores lights section.

Or you could check this out,

they have a 150 hps flood light for $38.90. I heard someone say that this light lacked a capacitor and due to this was really bad on electricity [like consumes 400 watts for 150 watt light] but its a hid in your price range. Sure it will get hot as fuck im sure and run your electric bill up a few extra bucks but add an extension cord and some hanging chain and you still have a few bucks for a little fan. So where do i pick up my trophy?
