Hey man, I haven't read through all of the posts and I know it SUCKS to hear it, but you really are better off waiting.

You sound like a smart guy, and I'm sure you will (very soon/soon enough) become a very good grower, but you never know what problems you might run into the first time around while you get your environment under control.

I lost a few weeks in veg (temperature problems/over feeding over watering) and then lost another week or two in flower (pH problems) and so my first grow will have wound up taking me around 4 months by the time I'm smoking. I'm not saying it isn't worth it, but you don't want to try and force something BC it will just affect the plants.

Think long term-- especially if you don't want to get caught. Tale some time, get a shitty job flipping burgers, and try and save up to get a place. You can consider finding a good friend to move in with, but that's something that has plenty of reasons to avoid as well.

Your time will come, just be patient, and spend time and energy every day to get closer to where you want to be, whether its getting a place of your own or saving up or whatever. Don't ride against the grain, and the universe will treat you well.

Good luck bro, the journey starts soon

try growing something legal that is like mj, maybe tomatoes. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't mind if you did that. you can hone your skills on that while you wait, and you don't have to hide anything. you can buy a little stuff here and there, MG is good soil to start with, you can learn about nutes and stuff your tomato plants will need, which will be similar to mj. then when you have money, and your OWN place you will be good to go. I started growing in my apartment, with a guy who didn't even like the smell of weed (he complained alllll the time) and all I did was veg them (no weed growing smell) and I kept to myself in my own room. I'm not suggesting trying that, it was bad and my roommate gave me 23 hours notice he was moving out. IF I had started flowering, I woulda be screwed. terribly, in the the end, all I had to do was clean up the dirt and stuff I had in my room and dispose of a few small plants, but now that I'm on my own, I know more about what I'm doing, and I'm in a safe spot to do it.

the guy who said he had biyearly inspections on fire stuff, I've never had that and I've lived in 4-5 different apartment spots, no one has ever been around. I did try to paint a box for my grow room white, and my old roommate called the gas company thinking there was a gas leak! I've never been so nervous in my life, I don't think I slept that night!!

Growing weed is fun but so is having a roof over your head. Landlords can be a bitch if not careful, even thou its legal now in my state (except for growing and smoking while driving) and its SUPER easy to get a medical card here, jobs can still refuse to hire you and can fire you for failing a UA, My buddy got evicted from his place with a legal grow not because the landlord hates weed but they don't want the attention and crime that can come from a grow op.

MG isn't the best to start with if it has time release nutes in it, specially if you arn't use to seeing what to much or to little of nutes looks like, then if one adds nutes then the soil releases more nutes you really have a problem on your hands.

get the MJ without time release nutes, there are a couple good ones, I'm just not awake yet enough to remember what they are. You could also get plain old dirt and add perlite, that would be the most hands on way I could think of to see nute deficiencies if there were no nutes to begin with (no added nutes I mean)
