When I was in prison in the deep south, the guards would actually get excited when opossums got stuck in the hurricane wire around the perimeter fence. I asked another con why, he told me they liked to bbq them. I called bullshit, and asked a guard. He looked at me like I was crazy and was like "of course that's why, what would you do with 'em?"
