It will be interesting to see the latest update from the Medical Cannabis Pilot Program website to see how many applications were processed during the month of November. The last update was posted on November 9th, so an updated version of the report should be available any day now
let us know when you find out!!

Even with all the New Card Holders, we are still 1 out of 250 People on Average In Illinois, Residents vs. Patients, We B Special!!
The sad part, 1 OUT OF 7 Illinois Residents Had an Opioid Script filled. There are Potentially 2 Million New Patients, even without Making it Legal. Now I bet you are Glad you did this, no matter how long you had to wait?? It about to Get Crazy for IDPH....

I broke down and called the IDPH number today to ask about my timeline for getting my card. Between 12:30pm and 4pm I called 215 times. Every single time except once the call went directly to VM without ringing. One time it rang once, then went to VM.

This tells me there's something wrong with their system. What other government agency, especially one that deals with health issues, would get away with this level of neglect?

I think we need to get some investigative reporter on this, get them some publicity for their inaction. Where's Dave Savini? :)

I agree, but I highly doubt anyone will do anything. Unfortunately!

You should be a week or so after me! I was approved 12/7, and submitted my app 9/20!
How do you know what day you were approved? I mailed my application in and it was received 9/18/18. My check was cashed 12/7/18. Is your approval date the day your check was cashed? Does anybody know about how long it takes to get your card in the mail from the day your check got cashed?

Hullj18 called IDPH, and learned the approval date from them - reported it a few pages back.

We don't know whether cashing the check necessarily means approved (I assume you applied via mail). Since last Friday (12/7) people with application dates ranging from 9/20 to 9/26 reported that they were approved. If your application date was 9/18 and your check was cashed last Friday, I think it is safe to assume that you were approved as well (that is, if there were no problems in the application documents).

We know that, after approval, IDPH tells you that you will receive your card in 10-14 days. People here reported receiving their cards after approval as early as 3 days and as late as 3-4 weeks, although most everyone do seem to receive it in the 10-14 day mark.

Congrats to the six frequent posters that have gotten their cards in the last two days. Hope the state doesn't run out of medicine with all these new cardholders! (j/k)

Some observations about the current wait time:

One of the six approved this week required a photo re-submission, so I didn't track the days. The other five were "normal" approvals and the number of days from submitted application to card-in-hand was 103, 90, 88, 87 and 84* days amongst those folks. It's a small sample size, but it sure looks like the current waiting time is nearly the full 90 days, plus or minus a little. And some people are still getting 100+ day reviews. A very unfortunate state of affairs, to put it mildly.

*MCO patient -- submission date estimated

On a positive note, by my tally we've got five more frequent posters currently sitting at 83-89 days that might still see something this week.
