Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Newbie here. Actually newbie to all of this. I submitted my pw on 4/25. My dr. will submit his pw on Mon. 4/30. I've read all the posts from the beginning. Lots of info. I'm going to guess I won't see my card for at least 12 weeks, July or August.
I would love any advice or knowledge on this whole thing. Strains, edibles, oils, creams, patches. Do I try smoking it first?

This is just my opinion but from all I’ve read on here I’m ok to wait 90 days before contacting them. If I’m still hearing crickets at the 90 day mark, then I might be worried there’s something wrong. But I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone getting their card until at least after day 60, so I’m kind of expecting sometime between day 61 & day 90. I don’t know if contacting them slows things down or not, but I just keep reminding myself this is the state of IL. NOTHING moves quick here.

Incidentally, today is day 57 for me. Still hoping for my card before Memorial Day!

If you’ve never smoked before, I’d suggest a small one-hitter pipe to begin with. Flower always works the fastest for me, but it takes some getting used to if you’ve never smoked anything before. You’ll cough a lot at first but so does everybody. :)

Informed delivery shows my card in todays mail... we have had a substitute rural carrier the past few weeks... Saturday mail has not arrived until late afternoon... close to my dispensaries closing time... will drive down on Monday.

Submitted via Priority Mail on 2/13/18... 74 days.

Card charged feb 16
Haven’t heard a word but went to the website and tried to access application and I got error message that said that I could not start an application because I already have a license.

Yman173, thanks. I have so many questions. Do I have to use the dispensary I'm assigned to Pharmacannis in Schaumburg? Anybody have thoughts on patches? THC/CBD creams?

I was a 2/20 applicant and recieved my card today. It is very close for you. You'll love it!!

Hope your card came today. It's worth the wait. I'm surprised I got mine under 70 days.

I logged into the IDPH website and it said I am unable to apply for a new license because of my current licenses I hold. I’m guessing that means I’m approved!
