IHG - Silverback (GG#4 x Black Cherry Pie) rdwc

Wanted to start a journal of my Silverback by IHG. (gg#4 x black cherry pie)

Started 6 reg silverback's on 12/6, and just took a small cutting from each of them and put them in a dome under 12/12 lighting today. I should know sex of each one in about 7-14 days. I'll take out all the males but one, and take an even number of cuttings from the females to fill my 6 site diy rdwc system. I then plan on breeding the lone male with the remaining females plus a blue power female I have. Silverback x blue power sounds real nice. Just finished up my blue power grow (link in signature), so now that everything is dialed in, hopefully we'll have another great run.

you bet, just waiting for these cuttings to show sex so I can weed out the males and then take cuttings from the remaining females and put them into my rdwc system. I should know in a couple more days. They are getting big!

Coming along nicely. No sign of sex on the cuttings yet. They should show soon. 6 plants in here, don't know the sex yet. 2 are tall. One is branchy, the other not so much. The other 4 are shorter, 2 have more branch growth than the other two. Everyone is healthy, and I should get some good cuts off the females here in a couple weeks. So far, so good...

4 bulb T5 HO (200w @ 6500k). Got it on the bay for $80 delivered, working like a champ! Currently on 18/6

After an epic clone battle, things are looking good. Should be in the system within the week. Still 11-12 weeks away from harvest, but I'm liking the structure, smell, and vigor already.

I love the structure I see in the pics.

Subbed for this? I got done in house genetics "royal purple " about a week ago.

I would like to have a male of that. I have a fire alien master stud that's always looking for good females.

Unfortunately, I got rid of all the males this round @shorelineOG . 4 of the 6 I popped were males and they all had great vigor and structure/growth. I have 6 new clones in the rdwc system, but decided to flower this Silverback mom now (started a couple days ago) On the hunt for the next strain! Going to veg the rdwc system for about 4 weeks, this mom should give us a nice preview of what is to come.

Clones are starting to show roots coming out of the net pots and finally starting to grow a bit. Mom silverback is 9 days into flower. She is stretching nicely and looks nice and healthy.Took a couple extra clones and popped some freebies of Dr. Candyland Fangbanger OG. I have the 4x8, 4x4, and 2x4 tents all running something. Working on getting my flower system perpetual, figuring out a solution to get clones/fems well rooted in net pots without building another complete system. Maybe a simple 6 site, or a large single tub or two with removable net pots I can transfer to the other system. We'll figure it out.

This pheno of SB was showing pistils fairly early in veg, none of the others showed sex until under 12/12. 9 days in, and they are really starting to come out. Hopefully she's a keeper.

The calm before the storm

Quick update. Everyone is looking great, and roots are exploding. Starting to see a lot of good growth up top. Just trying to keep things simple.






I sometimes have to tap the water pump to get it started again after a change out and I broke a part that holds the front on. I ordered a new one and zip tied this one up. No leaks, but just in case, always have spare towels around when messing with a hydro system.

Everyone is nice and healthy, growing well. I flipped these on the 14th because they were getting pretty big and the single mom in the 4x4 is large. I can only imagine what this tent is going to look like in the end. I had to take 1 plant out, it was just not working out, sucks, but I don't think I'm going to be missing much, these things are taking over.

Another note. In House changed the name of this strain to 'Cherry Gorilla' due to another strain already having the name 'silverback'

The fun hasn't even started!

Mom tent is packing on some nice flower and has a sweet smell to her. Hydro tent is getting crazy. They are getting pretty big and are 17 days into flower, still stretching.
