Ignore

is there a way to ignore posts by certain people?

I've never used it, but there is an ignore list under my settings in "My Rollitup". Looks like you just type the user name in there.

You can still read what the person you have on ignore writes when someone quotes them.

i was wondering what would happen in a quoe situation, it would be cool if it said "quote from ignored person", then the response from the uningnored person so you don't have to see what they say. no one has quoted anyone i've ignored so it hasn't been an issue.

the only thing i hate about the ignore funtion is that someone almost always ends up quoting the tool that you're trying to ignore, and you end up seeing what the person whom you're trying to ignore had to say anyhoo's..
other than that, i love the ignore function..

and jesh mmj, if you had a problem with my posts, all you had to do was say something, lol, no need to ignore me..

guess i should have read your last post before i got all excited and made my post, lol.. no, when someone quotes the person on your ignore, you still see it, which is the one problem i have with the ignore.. other than that, good stuffs..

they should really change that in the programming. if the person is on ignore, we don't want to see them, even in a quote. I guess the way the quote works though is that the post comes from the person posting, not the original poster so there would be no way to stop it from showing the ignored persons post.

It works well enough for me.....Shit if I see a quote from an ignored member I still feel somewhat sheltered from the creepolla on the ignore list.....I haven't used but 3 times all for the same person.

Why ignore anyone? People used to bother me, but then I wrapped my mind around the concept of this is the internet, and those people are usually comedy gold, without even knowing it.

there are certain things i don't want to surroud myself with. for instance, people who are overly religious and think everything falls into the hands of "god". I have to ignore people like that because i have no respect for them and i don't care to see what they are saying. if i have to see them, i won't want to participate because to me, it is a stupid way of thinking. it's like being surrounded by a bunch of GWB lovers, do you want to listen to them? i don't.

First post!! Wow RIU got lonely since I found the ignore button.

I made this site my own by ignoring everyone.

i have only ignored 3 people but i am sure there will be more in the future.
