DSCN1192.jpgDSCN1190.jpgDSCN1193.jpgI really don't use screens in glass. I just clean my pipes pretty regularly to keep them brand new looking. (btw-never use HOT water! It will make the resin stain your glass!!!) Anyway, in all my years of smokin, I always had problems even getting metal screens to stay in the bowl. I JUST figured this out the other day... I was given some screens for free with an order from GS...

I love ashcatchers and am always looking for new ones to use on my piece. I am highly against using a metal screen in your glass piece though!!! It runis it!! If your hole is to big and you need something I would recommend taking a glass beer bottle and breaking it with a hammer and getting a nice little chunck from the bottom of the bottle to stick into the big hole. They actually sell glass screens as well, little pieces of glass to put in there so the hole is not as big. What I do with my ash catchers with big holes is just use a solid chunk of nugget on the bottom of the bowl pack, then pack in the grinded up stuff ontop of the solid nug.

man busted beer bottle is a GREAT idea! I don't use metal screens either...that may be why it took me getting some free packs of them to figure this out.bongsmilie

Glass screens are great if you can find them.

im 50/50 if im using a glass bowl i like to use a brass screen never stainless too rigid

if im using a BIG bong has to be big or a bubbler i use a glass screen i get em 4 for 5 bucks at my local shop

but if imusing a small bong i have to use a screen as i tend to pull like a vacuum cleaner and will pull chunks of bud through the hole with a glass screen lol


edit ps...

if im not using my nail and head for oil hits and im puting it on top of bud its a must for a brass screen
