If you grow weed you need 400HPS

Hi All,
I just wanted to say that I am in love with my 400 HPS. I have grown before and I used flors. I am now using a 400 watt cool tube with a Hortilux bulb. My plants are almost 2 weeks old. I had them started under 150 watt CFL to get them started. 4 days ago I decided to turn on the big boy for the day and see how the plants reacted. They went crazy!! Granted I kept the light about 2 feet above them. They have done so well that I have lowered the light closer tonight, about a foot away. I will check them in the morning. May be I have exposed them to to much to soon. I will report tomorrow.
I also wanted to say to all of the people who are reading this web sight and are looking at the new 200 watt CFLs that for the money you are spending on those you can get 400 HPS for not much more. If you can vent somehow, go with the HPS. It is the BOMB!!!!!!!

I agree. There is a big difference between using floros and using a hps.

I agree too and the 600w hps is the dogs togs.

ARRG! Think i Should go with a 400 digital for a 5x5 space or should I go with a 600 watt? is 600 overkill in such a small place?

you can grow and start with flos but when it comes down to it, hps is the best.all day long.

If money is not a big issue, make sure that the ballast is switchable from HPS to MH. MH in my experience is the absolute best for veg.

They 400watt would be just fine, but the 600watt light will give you bigger yields.

Yep I love my 400w HPS. I do veg and flower with it straight HPS. Planning on getting a 600w digital though..

Do you want to sell your 400watt when you upgradE?

i use'd to grow 25 plants with about 5 400 watt hps....

about how much heat is this thing going to put out?

I mean is it going to heat my entire room up? People will know somethings up if they happen to walk in my room and it is 10 degrees warmer then the others or something along those lines.

I heard a reflector and keeping a fan on the light and a fan blowing the heat outside of the closet minimizes this... but i'm wondering just how bad is it? Will it change a 70 degree room to 80's in hours?

I'd say a 600w is right for a 5 foot by 5 foot area...a 400w would be better for a 4 foot by 4 foot area...

I got a 400 watt in a space about that size and I'm upgrading 2 a 600 watt as soon as I get all my other supplies bought up. I'm only flowering 5 plants but the 600 will allow me to spread them out a little more. I knew I should have bought a 600 straight out, oh I can always slap an mh bulb in the bad boy I guess

i got 7 f plants in 1000watts bulp and a 400 is that good u think it will give me at lest 5pou and i got 3 in a 1 400watt is that good d

i stuffed a 600w in a 3 X 3 room.

just received my 250 MH for my veg area.
