Agree with most of this, but have Radiant and CLW really proven they deserve those spots?
I've heard nothing about radiant short of a 2 second mention in a youtube video.
And nothing truly impressive has come from CLW that I've seen--it seems like there's never really a instance I would pick CLW over something like A51/Hans. (Could be wrong about CLW, but its the impression I get/have got after being on here a while).
I gave Radiant a 5 star rating because they are the most technologically advanced grow lights around, period.
The amount of thought and effort that was put into those lights is mind-blowing, built in wi-fi for remote control, adjustable spectrums to mimic different times of day, etc.
Not that $7,500 is a reasonable price, but it is an amazing piece of technology.
As for flowering, it looked like they did fine here:

As for California Light Works, while true there aren't a ton of grow journals out there, I know I've seen some journals or vids somewhere that were positive.
I'll search for some later to support my rating, but I'm in a hurry right now, and rushing out the door.
Peace.

Okay, I'm back, and Multipass, you were right.
I could have sworn that I'd seen some full CLW grows, but upon further review, I can't find one of them that ever finishes their journal.
I edited my ratings, and removed CLW for the time being, until I see something that changes my mind.

I use CLW for veg and flower. I don't post full grow journals, but you can see shots of my plants in my journal. I took the summer off, but have a new crop in and will post some pixs soon.

I switched from 400 watt HPS to CLW a couple of years ago and have been very pleased. However, it seems like CLW has not updated their lights in a few years, so perhaps there may be better choices now. I actually want to add a bit more light to my flower tent as the two 200 watt CLW lights don't give me quite enough light in the corners of my 3x3 tent. I have not decided what to get, but I may just add another 200 watt CLW flowering light. I'd be happy to hear other suggestions.

CLW is good. Just outdate now. Others like A51 have stepped it up and CLW hasn't. But their UVB system is the best UV additions I know of.

I think that CLW and Lumigrow are super close to each other...I would get a CLW.

Your buds look pretty big, so I feel pretty comfortable about my recent purchase of an LED light panel (A51). How much dry weight did you get in your last grow?

Thank you, sir.
I knew I had seen some grows, but I could not find any links when I was searching for supporting links.
Glad you are having such success with your CLW LED's, keep up the good work.

Thanks for weighing in on this, sir.
I consider myself very knowledgeable on LED's, but you are, hands down, my superior on the subject.

You made a good choice Dave, you will not regret it.

I think the plant you are probably talking about was around 2.5 ozs of super dense nugs. I'm really about quality vs quantity because I grow for myself and produce more than I can smoke. Plus, I grow in a tent, so I try to keep the plants on the small side. Depending on strain and veg time, I get around 2 oz per plant or about a half per crop. Three gallon pots with Super Soil. Four plants at a time in a 3x3 tent with two CLW 400 watters. If I were a commercial grower, I'd probably stick to HPS lights (until the next gen of LEDs anyway).

Hello all. This is my first post! I am trying to start a indoor grow in my closet. It is 2'x4'x8' I plan to grow 4 to 6 autoflowers (Royal Dwarf). I have everything setup except the lighting. I am located in Hawaii so the temperature and humidity can get kind of high in the room. I was leaning towards using L.E.D. grow lights because they will not produce heat to raise the temp of the plants. I am still unclear on how many watts/lumen I need per plant. I was told that the more the better, especially during flowering? I have seen a bunch of used grow lights for sale in my area and on Ebay. Price is not really that important. Coming from modifying cars as a hobby, growing seems really cheap. I just needed some help clarifying how strong of a light I need and if I could get one that works with veg and flowering?
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the link! Your grow looks great! I guess you don't need that high watts per plant? I was looking at some used lighthouse 280w lights on ebay. It looks like you can use one of those per 2 plants?

Hi all! I'm dying to trade out my 600W hps in a 3x3 tent for some leds. Ive read so much and I'm still trying to understand this. Too many heat issues (and hence spider mite issues) and high electric bill. I'm thinking two area51 will be just as powerful as my 600w hps...and save on electricty and heat without losing in the yield. Or just one area51 and some cfl side lighting? Hmmmm. Any thoughts?????

I was thinking about picking up 3 of these for my 2x4x7 closet grow? Seems to have a lot of similarities with the higher priced brand named led grow lights. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=251364378920

anyone have anything bad to say about this light? Other then its from ebay? My budget was around $300
Brother KenTK Not All Lights Are Created Equal.I Know Of Only 2 Lights That Can Do What Im Trying To Do.1) Area-51 2)Apache Tech. All Others You Will Need About 40-50 Watts Per Square Foot. The Light You Posted From Ebay Is Cheap Chinesse Crap.Yes It Will Grow Ok Bud But How Long Will It Last??

No Kidding? Kill it in a good way...or bad? If 2 of area51 in that space is overkill, that's great considering the cost of each light! But I do have a 600W hps in the 3x3 w NINE plants in 3 gal containers. Doing a perpetual in soil...w 6 grows under my belt...I'm afraid one will not be potent enough...maybe w a few cfls in the corners or w a side light? Thanks for the response!!!! Peace

This seems like a good thread for my question- My friend is looking to replace his 1000W HPS when the ballast poops. He's thinking of LED. Not sure there's an LED unit that could be slid in its place?

Any opinions on such an exchange?
