There have been succesful grows documented on here with both. Another option is the onyx panel.

This thread was made by a grower who uses both the a51 and the onyx.

Poke around these forums and see real results for youself, then feel free to ask the growers for any advice.

I have never properly grown a plant with any light at all, so the tiny knowledge I have is all from reading/2nd hand research, not from experience.

But 2 of A51's RW75 units for $430 is probably the best deal you'll find right now based on what I've read. They should give you better penetration than the Hans and as you're in the US (I think) I guess any potential issues may be dealt with more easily too.

I know u probably cant go wrong with Area51! Big Dense Sticky skunky buds I see! Area51 is well documented on this site! I don't know for a fact but it looks like there clearing stock for something new with the prices now. 2 RW150 for 840 delivered! Cant beat that!

Ive have no exp with onyx or area 51 , I avoided the onyx because of footprint/heat issues I have been researching. Very small footprint from the onyx?

Also someone posted that 100w LED Cree bulbs produce more lumens then 100w CFLs. I went to home depot today and the only difference i saw was a difference in price. They both put out ~1600 lumens only i got 4 CFLs for price of 1 LED.

Am i missing something else?

Yes the cost to run them will surpass the LED very quickly! I seen same thing on home depot last night. 100 watt phillips equalvilent actual draw 34 watts I think? for 26 bucks each! I would have bought 4 those! , only question is maybe the heat produced from those bulbs?

The actual wattage difference to get to those 1600 lumens:wink:...........@ way lower deprecation rates compared to a spiraled T5/T4 bulb....



Edit......Just noticed that on HD's website that philips T8 led bulbs are in stock at my local store! Cree asleep at the supply wheel again......big shocker

They produce the same lumens using fewer watts. Use the same watts and you'll get more lumens. That's how CFL was more efficient than incandescent. And how LED is more efficient than CFL.

I know you can put 2 RW150 together to get little over 300 watts, where the Area51 RW300?? Now 2 those badboys would be nice! I don't know maybe in the future sometime?

ARE YOU READY????? WOO HOO ! 2 day free shippin and Answered every email! Its like they wanted my business! Good Company! They just need to offer a 320 watt and 640 watt panel????????????????????????????????????? I look in the RW 150 and I see very HD heatsink with large fins and quality parts. Runs cool! And the warranty is good also. I still want AT600 to try out , but its 2 grand and I aint there yet!

Hi, I am new in this forum. I am from Spain (sorry my bad english... I am trying improve it) , I have some experience with leds (red-white-blue) but I was seeing your results with only whites leds and i am impresive.
I have some technical questions:

- I have some heatsinks with : 80x10x1,5 cm. and weight : 1600 gr. Do you think is enought for cooling 80W without fan?

- I am searching the best quality and results (like always do) , after read some pages from this forum, i think Vero and CXA are the bests white leds. And about 3000K the best light. Wich model do you recomend me?

-I have a lot of drivers CC of this two models:
-30-36V and 1800mA (60W)
-30-36V and 3000mA (100W)
Could I use them to make me a good white lamp?? Maybe conect some leds in paralell?

Thanks for your help.
