The same state that can't manage to print an ID card in a reasonable amount of time? Can you name a single thing the state does that isn't completely and utterly fucked and inept?

Bring your overages in. We will test it. Results will take 6 weeks. Then for no real reason it will take another 3-5 months for you to get your money. Wanna buy something? Fill out this form. In 6 months you can come back and purchase some medicine.)

this kind of stupidity is what destroy's this country.MICHIGAN DOES NOT PRINT THE CARDS A PRIVATE COMPANY DOES.michigan has told the company if they do not step it up they will move to another one that can.the state is not the problem it's your glorified private buisness.

private buisnesses used to hire goon's too bust the skull's of worker's asking for simple things like good working condition's,paid vacation's,and other worker's right's.the gov. had to call in the national guard's with mahine gun's to protect worker's from the largest corperation in america G.M.. what did private corperation's give us?children working 10-14 hrs a day in front of unguarded saw's.the gov. had to force private companies into doing the "right" thing.private companies stuff fat pocket's from the blood of the poor(working class).

There are quite a few people who are too sick/old whatever to grow. Many simply don't have the resources, time, space, mental fortitude, etc.
What about those that may have just been diagnosed with cancer or another qualifying condition, that have no connections or ties or even a clue about where to obtain meds? Especially those that have no previous gardening experience.
Say I'm diagnosed with a qualifying condition today. I see a doctor and get my recommendation tomorrow, and send my money etc. to the state. I then have to wait 4 weeks before I can even plant a seed/clone. Then I have to wait for finished meds for a minimum of a few months at best. Depending on the ailment, this very well could and would most likely be too late.
The few times I went to the dispensary I did see much older patients than i would have ever thought. I talked to a lady once who was in a similar boat which I described above, the dispensary was a lifesaver for her.
Yes, we do NEED dispensaries as far as I'm concerned.

So whats your point asshole? The state can't run anything right. They apparently can't even hire a private company properly. You know what I would do if I contracted a private party and they didn't do the job? I'd fucking fire them and hire someone else to do it properly. The problem of issuing cards and renewals in a timely manner has been a problem since the inception of the program. It is 100% michigans fault that the system has not been corrected by this point.

I agree, we DO need dispensaries, and that's the point of the thread. What model may work?

Not only do dispensaries allow faster patient access, they could potentially allow the grower a legal outlet for overages, AND provide guidance on what strain for a patient to choose.

Corporations run our government. Our politicians are bought and paid for. Only way is to take profit out of the equation. In a world where you didn't have to worry about the Feds...Credit union style co-op Dispensary and Grow-op to supply it owned by all of the members of the co-op. Cost of medicine would cover the cost of the entire Operation. Any profit made would be returned to the members quarterly.

A credit union type approach may work..

So long as you don't need the Federal deposit insurance..lol (just a joke)

Mr too. That's why I opened the dispensary thought to privatization..make it citizen owned.
Thats what we had, and Ive gotten from your previous comments you didnt like the old way. The thing about it is, it has to be more regulated and monitored. But as I know you hate...someone is going to get rich offf of it. In order to have a business/ store front you have to make a profit.

Even with privatization, yes there has to be standards ,regulations and monitoring. What I didn't like about the old way, was coffee shop recreational look and feel to the places. I've never had a problem with reasonable profits, just the scalpers.

What about a dispensary license, much like a liquor license for bars?
Something to that respect could help, I dont necessarily have a business model in mind, but I do agree we need dispensaries and they need to be held accountable for quality and profits. Government monitored not government run.
