If the November bill gets passed, what does that mean for us growers?

why do people continue to think that police are gonna stop arresting people for pot?
That depends who the new governer and AG are going to be. If it's Jerry Brown, we'll be in good shape. Either way it'll certainly make it a hell of a lot more difficult to get busted. Either way, it's a step forward. Why you guys want to side with the cops against progress is senseless.

there are still limitions within the bill. Its far from an all out pot free for all.
Again, it's still a step forward. The fact that it's not a perfect law is not a good reason to vote against it. There are very few laws that are perfect right away.

Of course at first it will start like that, and only a dumbass would think that they're not gonna be just as many pot heads in jail if not more.
Only a dumbass would think that legalization will lead to more arrests. That's a ridiculous assumption. If this bill was going to cause more arrests then the cops would be supporting it. They aren't. You and the cops agree on this bill.

The government isn't taking over the marijuana industry" you say. your blind, this is the first step in the process. . The feds have full control over the tobacco industry and they make themselve known every year by raising the cost and add more strict regulations regarding tobacco laws to the point were people go to mexico to reup on the tobacco. Hstory shows that the same will happen regarding marijuana laws and when its in the hands of the government(the feds) we will no longer have a say so.
You claim to be in favor of legalization, then you claim we can't have legalization without government regulation and taxes and you won't support that. So for all practical purposes you are against legalization. It's sick that people like you would waist this huge first step towards real full legalization. This law will not get us all the way there, but it's a damn good start. The fact that it's not perfect isn't a good reason to stand in the way of progress.

Either you're incredibly misguided or a cop.

the bill ADDS new laws AGAINST pot. you might want to do some research. ;)
Technical details aside, if this bill passes it will lead to other states legalizing it. It's a poorly written law, but a fantastic first step towards national legalization.

So, instead of doing your own legwork in your state to change minds and attitudes and achieve progress, we have to accept crap legislation which will result in the same sort of oligarchical dominance that followed the previous Prohibition. Just.... no. The hell with Richard Lee and the "Oakstedam" brand. Capitalism sucks everything good and decent out of anything it touches.

Show me the law I can vote for without all the flaws and I'll vote for that one. Oh wait, no one will spend the money required to make that happen. This isn't about Richard Lee, this is about ending prohibition. I can't believe you'd rather continue prohibition because you think someone might make a buck. Such a hater.

Yes, I'd rather settle for an imperfect law than be treated like a criminal. This law is only a first step towards national legalization anyways. But it's an important first step. If you think some better law is going to come along where no one gets rich and it never gets taxed, then you're living in a delusional fantasy world.

yeah, prison is a technicality.
Which we have now. This bill makes it less likely people will go to jail. That's why the cops/prison guards are against it. To claim more people will end up in jail if this becomes law is a flat out lie.

this bill adds even MORE laws that will put you in jail, it's almost a TRAP!!!

to think people won't be jailed if this passes is simply naive.

Actually if you ask people if they support the legalization of cannabis ~40-45% of Californians will say yes. If you ask them if they support taxing and regulating cannabis you get +55% saying yes.

Obviously cannabis users support legalization without taxation. But I'm talking about a demographic who don't care one way or the other about cannabis. They just see it as tax money for a broke state.

There is a large enough group of people out there who will vote yes simply because it's taxed. That demographic is large enough to make the difference.
This is the most sensible statement in this entire thread.

I agree on everything except i think there will be a huge growth in the amount of people that grow marijuana. If it's legal people are going to grow it just because they can, and see what they can do. If it becomes legal in november The quality in the pot is going to down dramatically, because their will be so many new growers. You will still have to go to a store to get the quality we are used to now. As people gain experience growing after about 5-10 years the quality will go back up and start seeing 40-50% thc content eventually. Also just my two cents, the bill is going to pass in november, but it going to take a few years for the people to have some control. The first couple years that it is legal the government is going to be in charge and limit us to 5x5 ft grow area and posses one ounce. The limits that they are talking about are a joke, 5x5 grow area is like two good outdoor plants, and if you can only posses an ounce(like a weeks worth maybe) you will have to be going to the store and buy more which who makes all the money the government. Time will change everything. Peace out:weed::weed:bongsmilie
Where the hell do you find herb with %50 THC. You sir are an idiot, you just blew your whole argument with one stupid statement.

actually, the cop WILL bust down your door, simply to make sure you are within the "LIMITS".

it's like pinning a bulls eye on our chest. better hope you don't have an ounce and a gram.
With a couple of million folks in Cali possibly growing a legal amount for personal use how can the law keep up with that? Pinning a bulls eye on a couple of million peeps sounds like a tough gig. It may even take some heat off the MMJ community as well with all the new users/growers popping up all over.:-?

sure it will take heat off of med growers, the cops will be on recreational users instead. easier targets.

Its a perfect example of Americans voting there RIGHTS away and not even knowing it. You have the RIGHT to see your doctor and obtain a recommendation/prescription. Which allows you to possess and grow marijuana. You currently have that right. YOu, You, YOu, YOu, and You have that right. I'm sure the cops don't endorse this bill so you better believe that their gonna enforce it to the full extent, so your pretty much just puttin a huge bulleye on yourselves.

This is a perfect example of someone pretending to know about the bill without reading it. Nothing in this bill effects medical users. It doesn't take any rights away.

That depends entirely on who will be governor and AG. But basically you're against legalization in any form if you think this since this could be said about any legalization bill.

The cops will not do this without the consent of the AG.

all I know is that if the bill passes on the 10th... there will be the greatest shortage of weed ever in the state of cali....so grow growers...grow!!! LOL
