That was exactly my thoughts, you can repeat it until you're blue in the face and people still don't get how govt works.
yet they remain cocksure that ron the paul is the savior, despite their complete lack of understanding as to how government actually works.

i lol every time.

Newsflash: Ron Paul does not represent the 99%, he is for complete reign of corporation with ZERO regulations. You think the distribution of the pie is bad now just give that model 10 years and see how things are.
Nope, you got it all wrong. Ron Paul has NEVER EVER advocated ZERO regulations. He has advocated very few FEDERAL regulations. I don't know if you know this, but there is more government than just the federal one. Local, county, state.

And you admonish others for not understanding how government works.

Occupy needs to stop calling itself the 99%. You may be part of it, but you are not it. Trying to take the voice of others and plaster it as your own. (Sorry to use the word "your," wasn't directed at you per se)

i believe he was referring how government is supposed to function as specified by the constitution.

never miss a chance to slip in a cheap shot by being obtuse.
Pot meet the kettle. I understand the constitution quite well and have enjoyed many moments of needling police, legislators, prosecutor types and judges on their misunderstanding / mangling of it. I tend to think of the Constitution as a document that is rarely followed, not a bad attempt at protecting liberty, but presumptive and flawed from it's beginning.

...and yes I was just being a wise ass when I said "how government works"" is an oxymoron, BUT that doesn't negate the truthfulness of the statement either.

my only encounters with government have been positive. sorry to disappoint you, but for me personally, government has worked.

that is not to say i enjoy dmv visits, but they are more efficient than dealing with the cable company and i've considered the alternative of not having any regulation on who i share the road with.

if ron paul wins nothing will change in the system. its quite simple to deadlock the whole system if you dont want something to happen, the republicans did the first 2 years of obama's presidency and then lied and said they would be all about the job creation if they won the next election and then continued their obstructionism. democrats are not stupid and will employ the enemies tactics if they need to. im also sure the republicans themselves wll lock it up if he would try to do something that the partys rich backers did not approve of. ron paul winning would ultimately be meaningless in the larger scheme of things and i doubt he'd get a 2nd term. i do like his idea of pardoning all non violent people doing time for mj sentences and his wanting to pull all our troops out of these foreign countries and cut back on our aid to other countries. Imo we really dont need to be giving all these people who dislike us money snd weapons just to be in their country and then operate bases at huge expense to the american people. the defense department is corrupt as hell. of course im sure #2 would never happen because of that but while it would cause an uproar i think that if he's true to his word he could use his presidential pardon powers to actually accomplish #1. from my understanding at this point nothing would be able to stop him doing something like that currently. if im wrong about #1 i'd love to know what would stop him from presidential pardoning all the non violent marijuana cases as i looked and couldnt find anything.

The absence of a monopolistic central authority does not automatically equate to chaos. Remember it is government that keeps many of us posting here anonymously....think about it.
