I am growing a strain called grapefruit in a hydro hut with two 400 HPS's. The hut is only 6.5FT tall and the two plants are very readily approaching the roof. Since I've switched to flowering ten days ago, they have probably grown around 8-10inches! I was thinking that since the top of the plant doesn't really have a dominant top cola set, I could in a sense top it now, and the plant would focus most energy in the smaller side branches and stop growing vertically. I know that it will reach my light in a small amount of time and want to avoid any problems now. Anyone have any experience topping a plant this late?
