Ice CFL Grow + Outdoor Kush

Really this is a combo Journal for my Indoor Ice CFL grow and my sister in law's outdoor Kush Grow.

Outdoor: We started with 16 seeds. 100% germination. We planted 13 in Jiffy Pots inside red solo cups and the other 3 just in the cups. (ran out of Jiffy pots)
After about 1 week some of our plants started dying because of mold. It took a week to find the problem and after we opened some holes on the cups most of the mold has left.
We lost 7 to the mold and one is probably lost. The sand is from my niece. She wanted to help my flowers grow and dumped sand on them. Weve moved them to a more secure location to . prevent this from happening again.
We water as needed and used Miracle Grow Water Control soil. There are 7 healthy seedlings left and 1 that is falling over some.

Indoor: We ordered seeds from Nirvana Shop. Ice is the strain. A hybrid that I will hopefully be able to do clones from. I may also be able to get some clones from a buddy of mine of an Indica . . . strain. I plan on using CFLs for both flowering and Vegging. No pictures yet, but Ill post as soon as I get them.

nice grow man! I also recently did a cfl grow w/ moisture control soil you should try using the t8-daylight spectrum for first stage(veg) of growth. then at flowering throw in soft white cfls. you can find all that at lowe's

What do you think of 1 42w daylight spectrum bulbs and 2 23w cool white bulbs for veg and 1 42w daylight bulb and some 23w soft whites for flower?

I've got a current grow going with Nirvana Ice. Check out my grow journal. I ran 23w 6500K CFLs, one for each plant. I'm about 16 days in and had really great growth.

I'm about to put them under a 600 watt MH then HPS.

So far, loving the strain.

Cool. Its about time I found some one growing the same thing I am.

My seeds havent come in yet, but Im expecting them within the week.

How long ago did you order your from Nirvana? Just curious for my own figuring. Sub'd Good luck with your grow!

I ordered about 6 days ago. They shipped yesterday and I figure itlle be the end of next week or the beginning of the week after.

They said 2-3 weeks, but based on everything I heard its about half that. I think they give us big numbers so if something happens and it takes a little longer to get here, they can say it was on time.

Ill definately let you guys know when they get here. And Ill have pics of Germination.

Looking good. Are you vegging those outside, or How?

Those are just the kush we're planting outside. Ive been setting them out in the sun during the day. It gets too cold at night to leave them out all night.

Word. How are you going to do the Ice?

Are you considering the ten gallon Rubbermaid like in my grow? For need as a first timer, hard to argue with this results.

Im planning on doing a setup simuliar to this with some CFLs for the Ice. Im thinking of putting them in a cooler lined with foil for when they are seedlings and Ill move it into this 2 room setup for flowering and veg. By the time I get to veg and stuff I plan on getting a MH and an HPS for veg and flower. We're still about a month from that though.

Heres my blueprint for my rooms.

I like the rubbermaid, but I already have this sweet collapsable cooler already lined in foil and stuff, so I plan on using it instead. But as far as I can tell itll be the same setup as yours.

Just keep the 6500K CFL as close as possible to the tops of the plants. I kept mine probably one, two inches at most, pretty much at all times. The result was explosive, compact bushy growth.

Ive been keeping close watch on your journal for strain specific info. Keep up the good work and those pics are so detailed its crazy.

And did you say you were doing one bulb per plant? I dont want to have too little light for them.

Yeah, I did one 23 watt 6500K CFL per plant. I had them horizontal over them...not in a Y connector or hung vertically over them. Not sure if it made a difference, but being horizontal seemed to give better light coverage. But I could totally be making that up.

I have no idea what I'm doing...just going with it. You'll do fine. I'm just doing the basics: the right lights, good soil, good pot, good ventilation. They seem to do the rest on their own.

I initially had the 600 watt MH too close and started getting some bleaching. At least that's what I think...as I have never done this before. So I moved it up to about 12/13 inches instead of the 8 or 9 before.

Cool. Do you use any sort of reflector's?

The lid of the Rubbermaid has a few coats of flat white on the underside. I really prefer how the flat white reflects over what I've seen from my tent so far. It may all be the same, in that there's not enough reflection to matter...but the white really made the Rubbermaid shine bright.

Ive got about half a can of some glossy white paint. Its not matte, but do you think itll work the same?
