Iboga should be alot less "scary" than any other off the high level psychoactives. It is supposed to be the opposite of an ayuhuasca experience. Instead of external dimensions and entities. You communicate within. Your true self. Unadulterated inner truth. Who you want, should, could be. The only thing is the length of the trip and the proper dosage.

I thought it was primarily used for people suffering from other mental problems like opiate addiction or really bad PTSD. My albeit limited knowledge of this one leads me to wonder why anyone would want to try it without the concurrent problems its usually used to treat. YMMV though. I just hate puking too much to want to try it without the spiritual side ayahusca can have.

Apparently, I am not in the correct mental state to use psychedelic substances now.
But this is coming from My parents and My intuition. I used to trip hardcore... eat lots of molly.... then dedicate a whole day or two towards entheogenic experiences. Girlfriend at the time said I was "getting out of hand and insane." ...
