I was poor, but a GOP die-hard: How I finally left the politics of shame

Thanks, good to now. I felt confident I made a good choice but it's reassuring to hear that from someone in the business.

One thing you said intrigued me. Said you could use it 50 weeks a year.

The way it was written might have meant you could travel 50 weeks a year. I don't see how that's possible at the price you paid.

Did you mean that you can pick any one week out of those 50?

If you're using multiple weeks (assuming you're on the week and not points) I would assume you'd have to pay more.

Wyndham owners have their owned time, and have access to off peak time at about 219/week or more for peak season. Since wyndham owns RCI, these are at thousands of resorts and options are quite good. Seems like that's what you might have been talking about.

He said he gets 50 slots. I think he means days. So 50 days total for the year.

So far you claim that I uttered an exact phrase about grandfather's old books on the holocaust. Indisputable proof I'm nichescheeken.

Then I use a used but uncommon word that is a well known established word, but bignbushy uses it too so... bam. More undeniable proof I'm someone other than nichescheeken.

I'd say all you proved is that you're no where near as smart as you want us to think you are.

And no. I'm not an attorney.

Could have sworn he said something about 50 weeks.

Any timeshare or vacation club will work well until the company sells out and runs out of money. If your company isn't growing, gtfo.

When I purchased my vacation club package it was for 50 slots for a junior suite which gave me an option for 1 slot @ year anytime I wanted to go, but when I upgraded to a master suite (kitchen, utensils, fully stocked bar, spare bedrooms, vip check in-out) it gave me the option to go on 50 trips in one year but of course it would cost extra, but that would be crazy and a waste. And just like some cell companies do my slot can roll over so if I don't use it one year (in my case it was 2009 I went on vacation 2x in 2010 with no penalty's).

Sounds like a good plan. Knowing what wyndham costs and what you paid I'd say you got a good deal. The units don't sound as nice but I don't go on vacation to stay in the room.

Again, my only concern would be the legal protection you were offered by the laws of Costa Rica. I think outside of the usa and Canada they are as good or better than anyone in this hemisphere with their consumer laws.

This industry is full of snakes. I'm being honest becuase of anonymity. But if I were you I'd rest easy with your choice. Maintenance sounds a bit high but considering all your other perks I'd say it's a good deal.

I hope it's easy to use to travel domestically.

I did my closing on US soil so I'm protected by US laws my buddy's wife that came with us made sure of that, when I came back stateside I hired a lawyer and closed in their Florida office, never tried using it Domestically so I can't tell you how well it is.

I was a bit skeptical at first cause I never even heard of Sol Melia before and yea you right I was told by both lawyers never sell any part of my VC but I didn't know (the phone calls) they were scams.

This is check in at 7:30 AM in Costa Rica. We had a ball. It's now closed but rumor has they're building another resort but we've hearing that since 2011. So far they have expanded far beyond the 22 countries when I first got my VCM, first one was Spain (that's where they're from).

I said that becuase you said you had to upgrade to get kitchens and stuff. Wyndham has the nicest units of anyone in the us. They're the only company to regularly have 4 bedrooms are all resorts. Their resort in downtown NYC is unreal.

All timeshare vcs are nicer than most other types of lodging.

Nope

Anyone who puts an "s" at the end of timeshare has just demonstrated they know nothing about the industry.

Timeshare is real property just like a piece of land, legally. At no where in this country are they sold over the telephone. Some companies hire people to do the marketing over the phone. But they aren't selling timeshare.
"Fractional ownership" is the preferred nomenclature nowadays, FYI. Good luck with that, only suckers and retirees fall for that line anymore.

Which one, the furthest downtown is in Chinatown. It won't make sense for me I'm from nyc, my main residence is in Pa. But like they say "you can take the boy out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the boy".

I spend more time in the city (Brooklyn, Spanish "El Barrio" Harlem, Black Harlem sometimes "Da Bronx") than I do in Pa. My Family is there.

BTW Don't want to confuse you my VC is for 50 slots for 50 years.
